Waiting To Find Out If I Still Have A Job

Just wanted to add my empathy - public sector bod here, too, although my situation is slightly different. The constant pushing back of goalposts is beyond stressful, I know!

I'm out from the end of May and was rejected for another job as well. Here I come to join Britains great unwashed, at least it will be summer and I can work on my tan :roflmao:

Well we finally got told on Wednesday that my colleagues and I jobs don't exist under the new structure, but how about this, we can compete against each other for minimal jobs at a lesser grade which works out to about £4k per year before tax etc. Must say it was nice to see public sector not disappointing us with some individuals actually getting a pay rise out of it :poop:

If this happens in in my local authority our salary / grade is protected for 12 months. Maybe it is worth asking your union rep.

I know it is an absolute bas***d situation. But it is a job and your health, mental and physical comes first. And no, I'm not in a comfortable financial position, I need a job to pay the bills, redundancy money will keep the wolf from the door for a few months, after that who knows.

What I'm saying badly is look after you

Now I've calmed down, as long as I get one of the jobs I should just about be ok as the csa have clobbered my ex so I should be able to start putting some money away and my son will hopefully be working by the time I drop down after the 12 months protected salary

Just found out today that instead of finding out in July if we have a job it is now August!

Feel so :poop:, really struggling with it all. Came so close to cutting myself at work but managed to get through it somehow. Just wanna blank out for a while

I know what you mean... I'm in the long process of suing the federal agency that I had worked for that allowed all sorts of abuse to go on... I just am now filing to have a hearing before a judge and it will take 6-8 months to actually get to court at the very least... :/
All I can say is that if this is your last sumner there, you may as well make it the best time possible. Even if you were to be laid off, it's not the end of your talent and ability to work. Honestly, there are probably better jobs out there, so you may as well create some fun at work to avoid burnout. May I suggest a huge Sunday hat for no frigging reason and Disney tunes?

:)

Hang in there, I had my interview for unemployment benefit today. I need you tax payers to start paying for me. However being married to the same man for 31 years, having 2 children by that same man and working and paying tax etc in the past, means I'm due for nothing now..

The councils keep delaying because they just don't know what to do. Rearrange these words 'brewery, chicken, couldn't, headless, pissup, organise, around, a, running, like, in, a' to make 2 well known British sayings :roflmao:.

It sounds as if they will decide in Aug. Then if there are too many people for posts, they need to do the following
  1. Informal consultation
  2. Formal consultation
  3. Interviews or people selection process
  4. Give up to 3 months notice (mine was 3 months)
We were told in August, the consultations went on until Dec, notices given end Dec. People out be end March.
