For over 2 years I wake up from my worse/horrible nightmares at 3:04 precisely! Not one minute after not one minute before.

Horrible nightmares that I feel so scared, in pain, horrible things. The last one last night I was waiting for something horrible to happen, so I thought about going to be closer to my mum, my mum is person full of light and beautiful. As I got closer, a voice said not yet, one more and it was a dead boy that died when my mum was a kid. I could see the dead kid's eyes empty. Then in this nightmare mly mum would cry desperately. I woke up, the clock marked 3:04.
I spoke to my mum and she doesn't recall of any friend close to her when she was a kid that died. But just a neighbour boy, althought she said they were not friends.

Some times, I feel pain from sadness from these nightmares.

I am a very good person, I don't get involved with anything negative and my mum is like the most kind person I have ever met. Beautiful person that everyone likes to be around.

Why this is happening??? I find it very strange that 3:04 is on the dot for those nightmares and usually happens when I am in very deep sleep.

Any suggestion would be much appreciated.

Many thanks

I think the dreams are the worst part you can't avoid them, they always come for me . I tried to not sleep for 2 days thinking I would be to tired to dream, nope.I truly feel for you.Have you tried going to sleep at a different time ?Maybe you are entering the same sleep mode at that time? For me it's 2-3 hours after I fall asleep doc said it's right before REM starts.

There is an old high blood pressure medicine now used to treat nightmares called Prazosin. My old p-doc didn't even know about it until she contacted VA. Your doc may not know as well.

Have you tried any herbs to help relax you before bed? Maybe try Melissa Leaves (Lemon Balm), but check with pharmacist if on other medicines.

Too many things to consider. Do you have a personal connection to 3:04? What part of the rem cycle are you most often in when these occur? What is your sub consciousness trying to tell you? Turning the nightmares with lucid dreaming takes practice and persistence... and for me it only works about half the time.

The pesky things about brains is that even in sleep it gives you more of what it thinks you want... brains aim to please. You don't speak of yourself personally... you depressed or dealing with suicidal ideation or death issues... grieving?

When I'm doing anything for long enough that it becomes a pattern/habit in addition to whatever else it is? I have to take steps to change the pattern/habit.

Fairly classic... For a long time, no matter what, I woke up at 6am on the nose. I'd trained myself to do so. Even without an alarm, eyes pop open, and yep. 6:01 am. In order to stop waking up at 6:01, I had to set my alarm earlier, or go to bed roughly the same time (but after) I used to wake up.

Ditto... In a PTSD cycle, Im virtually always awake at 4am. Either can't sleep until after the witching hour, or no matter how soon I went to bed, waking up at the witching hour. To break that cycle, requires a few more steps than when it's just a habit/pattern I've trained myself to execute. I have to both deal with what's causing the 4am thing (anxiety up, in my case), as well as take steps to break the habit (setting an alarm at random earlier times is one of the easier ones).
