It's hard to find the right words, because that sounds truly awful. No one should be treated like that. Don't university doctors have to have a written statement of ethics anymore?:mad:
But major kudos to you for persisting with getting treatment. I have a collection of specialist referrals that I refuse to go to, a random mix of everything from dermatology to neurology...and of course an Obgyn's in there because "of course" a person with ptsd needs those issues as well (not).
It takes a lot of courage to pursue fixing physical health issues on top of everything else. I don't know if it helps with the frustration and (totally reasonable) anger, but a lot of us would have put that stuff in the Too Hard basket long ago, so it's seriously impressive that you persist, even without the nasty sideshow and, quite honestly, really inspiring.
Hope they get their sh!t together...and I hope the student that did your IV line ends up working in some hideously disgusting department like bowel fissures for the rest of their life:)
