We Met Up With A Forum Member Today

Anthony and I had an enjoyable lunchtime face-to-face chat with a member of the forum today. It worked out well as while we all had to go a little out of our way it was convenient to all.

It was nice sitting out in the fresh air with a cool drink (on this really hot day) under an umbrella and chatting.

Awwww, thanks guys! It was great to catch up and be with others who don't look at you like you are from another planet when talking about dissociation and other PTSD symptoms!

I know EXACTLY how you guys felt/feel.

Actually talking to another person who is in the same boat is so healing, validating and just plain cool. I still recall meeting face to face with one of the forum members and how cool it was to actually see and talk to someone who knew how I felt.

That is amazing, it really does help to spend time with others that understand. A few of us here have said we really would like to meet but because of the distance it's not in the near future. Way to go!

That is great! I had a friend that was kidnapped in Egypt while her parents worked there in the foreign service. I wonder now if we understood each other so well because we both had PTSD (though I don't know if she actually has a diagnosis). We were both a bit "different" in how we related to the world. It is nice to meet others who have faced trauma and survived. Great that you got some face-to-face time.
