I'm not losing like I want to, but at the same time, I'm not gaining either. It is like I'm still trying to get a handle on what I need to eat on a daily basis that I can stick with and enjoy. I must say that I have learned so much about myself and my poor eating habits in the process. I haven't had any ice cream so far this month which for me is hard for me to believe.

I have also gotten up early the past few days and went walking around the lake here before it got too hot so that's progress for me.

Hi, just went for a walk with my doggies, and going down the beach wood hunting at lunch time to find some things to work on for the gallery, it is so cold here it feels like it's going to snow, raining at the moment just waiting for it to stop, then will go down.

Have had a major meltdown last night and had to go back on full meds, that's going to make it harder to lose anything :(
So taking it really easy today.

How are you all doing ?

Got an okay from my doctor to be on this restrictive diet. He was just impressed that I lost some from the last time I saw him. Do have some cravings. Losing weight is more important then eating normally, so I will just put those cravings on a back burner. I know it is just the beginning of the diet so my body is still getting use to the choices it has. It takes about 20 days for something to become a habit. I'm working on it.

Hi all. Im Mrsps and im a foodaholic :(
I am almost embarrassed to say how much I need to lose as it is a lot :(
I have an addiction to food and have since I was about 10 years old. Every day is a struggle. After a couple of bad weeks I am happy to say I lost 3 kilos (6.6pounds) this week :) Am proud of myself, just have to stick to my healthy eating!

It doesn't matter what you have to lose wether it is 10 pound or 1000 pound we are all in this together :D Welcome to the weight thread, and yes I was a fat kid and a fatty as an adult as well. Also I would be able to say I was a food alcoholic ..... I like that we could be the AA of food. We could be the FA.

That's ok little, I have had a really hard few weeks, doesn't seem to help with the weight loss, it really doesn't. I've put on 2.2 lb so not a good look when I'm meant to be helping you all, at least I'm being honest with myself.

Well better luck for everyone next week and those who have lost good on ya keep it up !

Take care everyone.

I hit 168 pounds this morning, from 169 earlier this week. A few pointers to help all of you:

Re Scales: Always try to place your feet on the scales in the exact same place every time you weigh yourself. I place mine at the top of the foot markations on the scales.

Re Calories: There are (in the USA anyway) boxes on the back or sides of each packages that tell you what the serving size is, and how many calories are in that serving size. You need to measure your foods in order to use these figures, but they are very helpful in keeping to 1300 calories per day, which is the recommended number of calories per day that one should eat (if they are female) in order to lose about a pound a week. It is not wise to lose more than a pound per week, as too much weight loss in too short of a period of time is not healthy.

Re Healthy foods: things like fruit juices, which would seem healthy, actually have a lot of sugar in them. Try to find fruit and veggie juices that are 100% juice, and not full of sugar! Even so, these can be high in calories. Although V-8 is a bit salty (which can cause fluid retention) I find that its calories are low and to drink a small glass of it each day (like a 4 oz. size) is good. Also, even carrot juice is sweet to the taste, but healthy for you too (for those who cater to their sweet tooth).

There is more, but I need to eat lunch....

My diet is based on about 500 calories a day, and my doc is okay with that, since my food choices are all healthy and I am losing weight. Lost 2 more lbs. Yippee. I do not think this is necessarily sustainable at this amount of calories. And it is definitely not for everyone. But, since I am unable to exercise, this helps. I'm no more tired then I was before due to my illness. So that is good. I will think about maintaining once I get to my goal weight. Which will take time. I have been at this heavy weight so long I can't imagine what it would be like to be at my goal weight. I just have to get there. I've tried so many things. This is the only one that seems to be working without side effects. I hope to succeed.
