I hit 168 pounds this morning, from 169 earlier this week. A few pointers to help all of you:
Re Scales: Always try to place your feet on the scales in the exact same place every time you weigh yourself. I place mine at the top of the foot markations on the scales.
Re Calories: There are (in the USA anyway) boxes on the back or sides of each packages that tell you what the serving size is, and how many calories are in that serving size. You need to measure your foods in order to use these figures, but they are very helpful in keeping to 1300 calories per day, which is the recommended number of calories per day that one should eat (if they are female) in order to lose about a pound a week. It is not wise to lose more than a pound per week, as too much weight loss in too short of a period of time is not healthy.
Re Healthy foods: things like fruit juices, which would seem healthy, actually have a lot of sugar in them. Try to find fruit and veggie juices that are 100% juice, and not full of sugar! Even so, these can be high in calories. Although V-8 is a bit salty (which can cause fluid retention) I find that its calories are low and to drink a small glass of it each day (like a 4 oz. size) is good. Also, even carrot juice is sweet to the taste, but healthy for you too (for those who cater to their sweet tooth).
There is more, but I need to eat lunch....
