What Are You Feeling Today? Not Thinking, Rather Feeling! Can You Identify Yours?

Feel like I am at the end of my rope and someone untied the knot so I have nothing to grip. Hope the bottom isn't too far of a fall because I am loosing my grip.

I'm feeling a bit pathetic, white cotton gloves are on, yes, I've done the Micky Mouse impersonation. I can hardly move my fingers today. I still managed to do 2 community car drives and I went to the hygenist. Yuck that was awful, I had to manage a panic attack.

I have bought ingredients to gook some of Amethists Christmas goodies. I bet checkout were wondering what I was doing with 300g white chocolate, 600g dark choc, 200g milk choc and 8 bars of crunchie, golden syrup and mini marshmallows. Now I need to be brave and start cooking.

I cried from an internal feeling (rather than a sad show or other external source) in the first time in ages. In so long I draw a blank in remembering the last time. I was writing. Trying to write for myself and perhaps my trauma journal, and I just started crying. I say this with a hint of amazement because I know what I feel right now. I feel relief. A release. Like a vice around me has loosened just a little.

Amethist, What are crunchy bars?

Hi Iam, they are a British confectionary. It is basically chocolate covered cinder toffee or honeycomb toffee.

I found this recipe.
  • 100 g golden syrup
  • 200 g caster sugar
  • 40 g [DLMURL="https://www.ptsdforum.org/food/ingredient/aID/503712"]butter[/DLMURL]
  • 0.5 tsp vinegar
  • 1 tsp [DLMURL="https://www.ptsdforum.org/food/ingredient/aID/504256"]bicarbonate of soda[/DLMURL]
  • 2 tbsp water
1. Line a 15cm square tin with greaseproof or parchment paper.

2. Put the syrup, sugar, butter and water into a large heavy-bottomed pan set over a medium heat. Stir until the sugar has dissolved, before turning up the heat and bringing to the boil.

3. Cook, without stirring until a teaspoon of the hot toffee mixture becomes a hard ball when dropped into a jug of cold water. If you have a sugar thermometer, it should register 138C. Remove the pan from the heat.

4. Add the vinegar and bicarbonate of soda to the pan - take care as the toffee mixture will bubble up and rise in the pan. Pour immediately into the lined tin and leave on one side.

5. After about 15- 20 minutes, when the mixture has begun to set, score the toffee in square shapes, using a sharp knife. Break along the lines when it has completely set. The toffee will keep in an airtight tin for up to two weeks.

Feeling numb right now! Had a rough day. Just want to shut everything and everyone out for just a little while.

My hubby is sitting with me right now giving me the play by play of what is on special at the grocery store. Bless his loving heart.

Will be leaving soon to take our daughter to soccer practice. Then, we run some arrends while she's there.

I wish I had a stop button for when I'm feeling this way, so that I don't come off like I don't care, because I really do care. I just don't always have the strength to invest.

I really wish that my mom could have noticed that I needed help so very long ago. If I had help then, my life would be differant today.
