What Has Been Your Weirdest Trigger?

People imitating the Beevis and Butthead laughs or says "Teepee for my bunghole." This is especially so when they're in their 30's or older for some reason.

My biggest trigger is when people eat with their mouths open and make lots of noise smacking the lips, licking fingers, and being all around rude and gross. My grandfather molested and raped me for years and he always chewed with his mouth wide open. Along with everyone else in his family at the dinner table. I think it is something about his tongue that gets to me... also a huge trigger of mine is when my dog licks himself. I seriously freak out and want to scratch the skin off my body... it's like nails on a chalkboard for me.

Expressing emotions is a trigger to me, especially happiness/vulnerability of any kind really. Also, every now and then, my mom's mint green sweater with white trees on it...the image pops into my head from when I had to watch her being attacked by my father...even as I type this I dissociated.

My weirdest and most difficult triggers are to be found in the character traits of other's and with observing certain psychological lapses and dynamics unfold. Though a number of these triggers did exist, they do now only to varying and lesser strengths.

At the top of the list would be unchecked arrogance.

My rape occurred on New Year's eve at a party in an apartment I shared with my friend, on a blue couch, in a room full of young adult men. New Year's eve is horrendous for me. I have awful flashbacks, night terrors, tremors and panic attacks the entire day. Forget having a party with a bunch of people. I can not be in a room with multiple young men either, it makes me extremely uncomfortable. My weirdest trigger- is blue furniture. Anytime I go to a friend's house and they have blue furniture, I find an unrelenting feeling of doom.

My triggers:
-a turning a door knob from the other side if I don't know who is there
-red vinyl upholstery
-any sound that surprises me if I don't recognize it immediately
-the smell of air-dried clothes
-callused or dirty hands or feet
-animal feces
-the smell of cow's blood
-anything that sounds like a mouse trap
-the sound of a leather belt
-the sound of cocking a shotgun
-creaking wooden floors
-anything that smells old, unused, or stored
-long narrow stair wells
-antique glass door knobs
-body odor with hints of - dust, oil, sweat, gasoline fumes, grease
-bike chains
-the sound of small animals crying in pain
-anyone behind me even if I know who they are and why they are there
-splattered blood
-the most horrific one is the sight of a hook & eye lock
-etc, etc, etc...
I guess I'm just a wreck.

Not sure how this page came up (clicked on something by accident I'm sure!) but I haven't found any more recent threads... And this one is damn cool, anyway.

Totally weird trigger...

Coffee & SimpleGreen. I can handle them both separately, but not together.
