No shit like everyday this week in North Alabama we are expecting thunderstorms. Just saying after about 3 or 4 nights without sleep it gets really old. Mainly just wanted to vent. O yeah for an added bonus every time I mow my grass it rains.

Hahah yea, does suck when it's always raining and you are trying to keep the yard from looking like the wilderness.
But the green here in the mid-west levels it out...oh wait then the humidity. f*ck.
Mosquito's mmmmm. Thought I had enough of those at Ft. Lost in the woods.
But it snows. Everybody loves the snow right?
f*ck that shit I don't dig having to shovel mounds of it.

In El Paso it was straight desert. Dry heat.
Only plus to that was the mountains blocked tornado's.
Born in a dust bowl. Sent to another dust bowl.
Returned to the green. Where the weather get's extreme.

Dr Black you definitely have a good way of describing your place--- sounds great I think I'm going to move to Alaska

Don't go.......The winters are pistol eating territory. The 16 hours of darkness is pretty tough to handle.

Alaska is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. The only other place that rivals it is Sedona, Az. and that's a completely different kind of beauty.

The winters are worth it. Barely. But still worth it. I was stationed in Fairbanks for a stint and I still managed to fall in love with the scenery.

It takes a couple years..

Winter Year 1: This darkness is kind of cool.
Winter Year 2. Hmm Pretty dark.
Winter Year 3. I need alcohol and lots of it.
Winter Year 4. God I wish I had a pistol to suck on.

The suicide rates in Scandinavia are not high because of the taxes. Buy a sun bed.

Seattle is pretty bad for SADD, too. My son got a kindergarten question "wrong" when he said "white" when asked what color the sky is. (I should have said grey! Or black!). 300+ overcast days. Yeah, kiddo, I'm with you.

Weather like London, filthy damp and depressing 10months a year... but nothing to do and nowhere to go except drink more coffee, and stay awake nights staring at the ceiling. There's a reason $5 coffees in brightly colored rooms originated here. (No public transportation to speak of, so alcohol is out). You aren't paying for the coffee. Most of us have espresso machines. You're paying for your seat.

I go above the rain line into the mountains each winter.
But it was bad before I discovered that trick.

The wife was born in Seattle, (lived on Vashon Isl) I got there in 1972. We moved to NM 4 years ago on June 10th. I do not miss it at all, I think the wife does at times.....The hard part for her down here was having the sun almost every day.:)The heat she is OK with, helps her RA. I got up a 0700 today and it was 80*, it's about 100* now.

When I lived in the Seattle area, I would get a friend that owned a helicopter fly me and my dog East into weyerhaeuser land. He would fly me in about 1.5 hours and it would take me maybe 2+ weeks to walk out. One time I did this I was camped by a nice lake for a few hours (we are talking deep woods) when my dog started looking up the trail. Next, a naked guy and gal come up to my camp..... We shot the shit for awhile and off they went. Now I am out in the f*cking middle of no where in the deep woods and this happens. (n)(n)(n) So I guess, sometimes you just can't get away from people....Oh just so you know, I am a Blue Tarp kind of guy....:D

I went to visit my Mon and Dad in N Idaho, I was doing a tune up on Dads truck and Dad says I am getting out of this Rain. I said what rain, as it was a light drizzle.:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: I told my Dad that when you live in Seattle, nothing would get done if we called it rain. We call it liquid sunshine. Told him I have seen 45 straight days of mist, drizzle, rain and deluge.....:whistle::whistle::coffee::coffee::coffee:
