I know its a pretty common side effect. I have read on the internet a lot of people complaining about continual weight gain even after diet and exercise. Is there a perfect combination that anyone has found successful? Specific types of training or type of diet? I have gained about 13 lb. in 2 months.

Just to be clear.. I am not worried as much about losing weight. More worried about not gaining any more. Looking for the best way to stabilize.

Thanks.

I was one of those trim little blondes all my life. Slim less from virtue than near constant nausea from keeping the lid on inner chaos.

Anyhow, was prescribed anti-psychotic and really didn't gain much of anything for a few years, then WHAMO!!!

I had been 115 lbs. Six months later - 165.

I don't recommend what I did to take it off as being super healthy but I ate a peanut butter sandwich for breakfast and one for dinner (and that was it) and worked out over 2 hours a day 5 days a week for four months. Got back down to 120's.

But if you are looking only to maintain - they say the key is to burn as many calories as you take in. But with some meds, it seems like you have to burn twice as many as you take in. I think they mess with our metabolism big time. It's the only time I ever gained weight.

But that's my subjective take.

I'm now walking at a fast pace 4 miles. Takes about an hour. I'm eating below 1500 calories a day. A total 37 grams of carbs.

I had to take Remeron too, and was almost "exploding". I stopped to take them after 4 weeks and 24 pounds more weight! But it wasn't just fat I had gained. The a good half of it was water. Even my face was bloated with water. But the most side effect of Remeron was, that it made me very jittery and it put me on a really terrible "stinking mood trip" right away from the beginning!
