Ive been in psychotherapy 2 years now. I need to do other things to deal with growing up with a narcissistic parent like Emotional Freedom Therapy (EFT) or a support group but every time I get the courage to help myself, I'm overwhelmed with where to start. There isn't a place where I can go talk to others who understand to feel at peace. So then I do nothing. I've been self sabotaging a lot lately and want to stop. How do I do this when I feel like I'm doing it alone?
 
Why don't you ask your therapist? Mabe your therapist could help you by guiding you into the next step. I would use my resources.

I hate the feeling of being overwhelmned. I am sorry this is happening to you right now.

Good for you for being in therapy for two years.
 
StrongerNow, you are in a good place right here. I agree that you need to do other things to deal with what you've been through. I also agree with gizmo, you need to talk to your therapist about this. I don't know what country you are in, but in the USA there are many support groups for different types of issues.

Look around here, and read. Feel free to talk about what you're going through. We all support one another and try to make suggestions that might help you. We all have PTSD in common, as either those who have it, or those who support someone who has it.
