Hate to be the bearer of bad news but a PSA of "positive" is not the indicator of having prostatic cancer. Having a high score is as statistically significant for having cancer as having a low score does. Study after study has shown this.
Doctors give you a PSA just to relieve your mind, not theirs. Cancer can even be missed in a DRE (digital rectal). A definitive diagnosis is found by taking a sample of the prostate and looking under the mike with several strains. The sample taking ain't fun.
So when you get a high PSA score, don't worry about it unless the doc does not follow up with another test to confirm and follow through with a sample biopsy, even an MRI.
