What's The Best Prize For A Fundraising Raffle?

Lets say one prize is Premium Membership, would the Forum just get to keep the money? I don't know how that works, but would that be a win-win for the prize winner and the Forum?

We could make that an option, @ladee - but it wouldn't work for folks who are already Premium, and I also don't think it's as incentivizing.

Folks, really - don't worry too much about the money out on this. Spending a little to gain a lot is part and parcel of fundraising, and the gains are ongoing. Once someone has donated (to anything), they are statistically much more likely to do so. We've generally had the same crop of stalwarts donating regularly, with the slow stream of new members joining in to help. It would be great to turn that around aggressively - that's a big part of the mission here, and so, the raffle prize should honestly feel prize-y.

This thread is great, though. It's helping hammer out what people might value, and also, folks' concerns - which is the biggest reason it's here.

Never even thought about about members that already have Premium. Then how about a new laptop? Dropped mine today and .......
I checked the Tablet. Looking forward to seeing other suggestions.

Amazon Card. :) If you have been reading My post you may know that I may not be able to give much of anything right now. But some of my friends may want to on my behalf as they say this place is a "God send". I was constantly bugging them and now I am constantly bugging all of you. Lol anyway Great Idea! I can say I have "networked" for the site. My T was told about as well as some people I know who also struggle with Ptsd. (Wonders if T is lurking around here, that could be creepy. Lol)

@ladee I really like the idea of premium membership to be a prize too. I'd love to have it but just can't afford it atm, but would defo buy a few raffle tickets for a chance to win it. @joeylittle what if it's a choice like for second prize premium membership but if you already have then something else? Perhaps that's a bit too complicated, more than it needs to be.

Please note, this is just to poll member feedback on prizes.

We already have the complexities sorted out, and they are not for discussion here, as they become the terms and conditions of the raffle when launched.

Without clear scope on wanted prizes, then it makes it difficult to conduct a raffle with a prize that readers want to buy tickets in.

Value spend is Amazon. Amazon exists in most countries. If you want a gift card as your value spend, then that is your choice.

I liked the idea of being able to spend upon whatever one wished to spend upon, rather than a specific prize, but I voted for the Kindle Reader, as that is the only thing up there that I could use at all.
