What's your favorite way to save money?

@Hedge i totally understand. I had some major, emergency expenses earlier this summer and now I’m dealing with some debt as a result, and having spent my emergency fund. So I’m rebuilding. It’s slow … I probably live beyond my means (because I choose to live alone in an apartment) but I’m getting in track, I think. And my panic over finances is also that I want to add a monthly therapy bill into the mix and I definitely don’t have money for that — even on a sliding scale. So it’s overwhelming but I’m trying g to remember to just take it a bit at a time.

My biggest expenses are… usually, anyway…

- Rent/Mortgage
- Food
- Utilities
- Medical
- Lifestyle

So I look to see which of those areas are flexible. And then I flex. Hard. Unless I’m playing with Monopoly money, which has happened a few times in my life. Sadly? Fortunately? That hasn’t been a constant. So I’ve gotten creative. I like nice things. So figuring out how to achieve/acquire those things? Is kind of a fun game. Win/win. As it’s fun, with prizes.

And then I flex. Hard.

This is what I am working on. But it is hard and it means that I need to not pursue therapy for a bit ... months maybe ... in order to save money. And I don't mind being poor, until it feels like it is impacting my health, and then I just get really overwhelmed.
