I am 65 yrs old. Most of my life, I have dreamed of having my own business. PTSD had other plans for my life.But here I am, to share with you all, that dreams do come true. We don't know when or how, but they do.
But I finally have started my own business of Jewelry by Ladee !!!!
I am thru the roof with excitement !! Even PTSD has not stopped this from being a reality.
A little back story. I am retired. Need to supplement my income, but my line of work has almost destroyed my body. Back, knees, parts I didn't know I had, always in pain. Hard to find a job at my age that doesn't require me being on my feet all day.
Went to a job interview, located at a local spiritual retreat. The job was for the gift and coffee shop.. have been trying to follow thru on all interviews, never know what opportunities will arise. Halfway thru the interview, both he and I knew I would not be able to work long hours on concrete flooring... but for some reason, he wanted me to tour the Gift shop...
Long story short, I saw the jewelry he had there, asked some questions, and let him know I make jewelry..after a conversation, exchange of ideas , ect.. I now have a contract with them to be their jewelry supplier !!!!!!
A beginning.... a true beginning of something I have dreamed of for a very long time... I am also located in an area of many gift shops and tourist traps... And having the retreat as a reference... I am on my way !!!
Don't ever give up on yourself !! Always let others know when you need them to help on our journey. Be open to hearing some tough love about getting your dreams to come true....
So hope anyone else who has a dream... be aware of opportunities... take a risk... and know that PTSD will be there on this journey.... but it can be managed... but I am on my way... I get to live my dream !!
