When Does It Stop????

Yes, please! Thank you!

My therapist has made comments (more directed to my intellengence w...

Your MD will be more compliant with the therapist paperwork first.

This I do know, ask the T to write a recommendation to your MD, that much of your pain and ptsd has made it difficult for you to function but being remarkable as you are , you've managed well.

The potential lay off and the stress of your lack of qualifications do to your history, are putting you at risk for a ptsd relapse.

You'd like to take a break and follow up your education.

I'll get back to you later w/ the rest.

I'll get back to you later w/ the rest.

I have to miss Friday's appointment but will ask my therapist next week. And please dont rush. Thank you so much for this! Im googling but ending with mostly section 8 housing. Not much on the pay and medical benefits and stuff.

do you know for certain that you are part of the layoffs?

No, no one does. Only that its happening. 7% - 8% of the company in all departments. Thats $3,000 - 3,400 jobs. Its due to landline phone declining but the email (nor the public announcement) says anything about phone only trained agents. Just that they are doing volunteers first and then will start to layoff the rest until their goal is met.

Rumor is they are wanting to close this call center. Excutatives moving to another city. Last rumor of that happened.

I almost have a neon sign on due to conduct issues not long ago and a very bad call last month. I have gotten a handle on it and got all of my stats to golden and they have been stable (as opposed to a roller coaster as they've mostly been) but even though they have, it makes sense that the people the bring along with them will be the people that are well trained in IPTV (I just got trained in that product a few weeks ago) and the department that takes fiber calls. They are tier 3 and tier 4 (tier 3 was the promotion i didnt get) as they can take calls all the way down.

But since I cant take severance, i have no choice but to hang on and hope. Quite depressing.

You're doing everything you can to not be a target for layoff, which is about all you can do (beside informing yourself - cheers to @coco9 because reading practical advice being handed out is something that makes me feel warm and fuzzy about this site). In the meantime, you look after yourself, you look after your puppy at home coz he loves you. Come what may, you'll get through this. You will.

Here and listening:)

Thanks @Ragdoll Circus, yeah, im sort of like becoming just as small as i can at work to try to take sheild of this light off of this neon sign. Maybe if i do great work and be like a church mouse, they'll over look me?

I get its mainly voluntary but im under zero impression up to 3,400 people will go out voluntarly. Sure, the close to retirement, those looking to leave anyway, and the normal churn but i cant fathom 3,400 people nationally will step up.

They are offering 130% severance to try to encourage voluntary. But if they close this call center im done for anyway. I cant leave here unless i bring my therapist with me.

And yes, god bless @coco9! I still need to be sure thay includes medical but thats why i love this site! Most care and want to help. Warm fuzzies as you said lol.

@lostforgottensoul Does your job know about your PTSD? I'm just wondering because that might actually make them reluctant to lay you off, for fear of lawsuits. I don't know how this company operates, but I worked for a huge company once and they had to lay off thousands. Everyone thought they'd lay off the so-called "weak links" first, but they didn't because some of those people suffered from disabilities. (Not calling you a weak link here, just referring to the people at this company who were seen as less than ideal by management)

Does your job know about your PTSD?

Depends on whom it is. The company in general (HR) only knows I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder for an FMLA claim. I did run my mouth off to this supervisor and the last about it though if it hurts your job preformamce (and it did) the law doesnt protect you.

Im not.sure if the company is downsizing if that protects you anyway.

I wouldnt know whom to advise.

You will do fine. I had to take a taxi a week ago to get my scar out of repair. It was the first taxi ride in maybe 30 yrs. it was a tad, nerve wracking, but I did fine. I wasn't worried about the guy driving as I was the taxi falling apart. OMG! What a piece of shit that car was....

What a piece of shit that car was....

Baha! Thats funny! I saw this car and it was so nice and was almost envying the fact that it was nice and mine is dead lol.

I went outside and kicked the f*ck out of my tires. Neighbors probably thought i was nuts but i had to some how relieve a bit of this pressure. It feels like a pressure cooker in my chest.

Stun gun is OVERKILL

It is isnt it? I did. Was in my purse where i could grab it though. Such a terror of people! I hate it! Maybe taking taxis will give me exposure...forced exposure but exposure nonetheless...to my fear. Ive had a major fear of taking taxis general. A stranger driving me to god knows where to torture and kill me. Or how my brain works. Theres camera in the taxi. Maybe it will help so with the fear of people, you know?

My stungun is like a security blanket that i need to ease away from. My pitbull is when im home or can bring him with me.
