When Does It Stop????

Many parts of the midwest are experiencing much, much milder winters.

I dont want to move from here at the moment mostly because of my therapist. If there was a great job oppurtunity or something like that that would be dumb to pass up then i would.

It takes a lot of money (and a good car or money for a new one) to move states and start over. Done it 4 times.

Trust me, Ive thought hard about that but I dont feel ready to leave my current therapist and Im doubtful that I would go to another but if I do, starting over with another therapist would be hard for me. Trust building is so very hard and so due to that, which doesnt even factor in my car, I want to try to make it work here, gain a roommate or something. At least long enough for me to be ok-ish to leave therapy. You know?

So for now, thats off the table but in the future i will likley move. Im not living just outside of Orlando my entire life. I may end up in AZ or some place like that thats not too cold and has good paying jobs. The Google call center (the place that got the award for best place to work) is in AZ. Or at least it was 10 or so yrs ago.

Id work for Apple (work at home) but the last time I applied I was denied. I'll like re-apply as they pay very well.

I was born in Inverness and lived in ocala and Gainesville. I remember none of it

Gainsville is where my dad is moving. Its north Fl. Ocala is close to me, more central, and Inverness I remember when I was a kid. I think its south of Sarasota? Not sure but a friend of mine when I was a kid moved there.

I wasnt born in Fl but lived here since I was very little. Its all i remember.

@lostforgottensoul Car rentals work like this.... Major credit card is needed (not sure if a pre-paid one would work). The $250.00 is a deposit and the $150.00 is the cost of renting the car for a week. Both amounts are charged to the credit card, when you return the car, if there is no damage to the car, then the $250 is return to you in about 7-10 days, via mail.

Hopefully they will get your car fixed soon. I know how shitty it can be without a car.

Oh @She Cat, I see. I dont have a credit card at all. I doubt a pre-paid would work and I dont believe a debit card works as they are wanting security of being able to charge damages or the car itself if not returned to the credit card.

A secured credit card is still a credit card, just your own money (pay $500 for a $500 limit credit card or $1000 for a $100 limit, etc. Or part secure pay $90 for a $500 credit limit.) Its how like a bank gives you a credit card when you have bad credit to try to rebuild your credit.

Thats cool that they return the money to you if its not damaged. I had no idea that they do that. So if they refund all of the money, how do they obtain a profit?

Right now im driving my dad's car. He hasnt moved yet, thank god. So i have a car to use. Once he moves i'll be f*cked so thats why i dont want to be out of work long as that money ive saved (thats half gone) i was saving for a new car. By the first of the year (or Dec 16th if laid off) I hope to obtain as much thats gone and work overtime as much as is offered and just try my best to have as much as I can to buy a new (used) car and still be ok. If i have to use it to live on though, it will be gone pretty fast.

Car is fixed, $460 later. It smells bad but he said thats the "new-ness" burining off. It runs as he drove it here. Not sure how well as he drove it here and I havent driven it yet.

Not meaning to be critical - honest question. With your dad's car available until he moves, did you consider not fixing your car until then, just to save up more money and then make a more informed decision once you found out about layoffs/timing on dad moving/etc.?

They keep the rental charge (usually a reasonable amount); they return the damage deposit. I believe they also turn a profit on the additional (optional) insurance, which is usually not actually necessary but they sell it pretty hard, and people don't always know they don't need it.

No because i can only use it a few days, a week maybe. Not months as it leaves them without one and they do go places and for emergencies etc. He would have never let me do that.

Would you qualify for unemployment?

I said yes to this orginally. Today I dont know as they sent me the severance email meaning I do qualify for severance but they have to know by Oct 7th and its impossible to calculate. I know its 130% of normal and they give a chart of yrs but they start at 5 yrs and technically ive been there since 3/18/13. So shy of 4 yrs. The 5 yr calculation was a bit over 12 grand. So now i dont know what to do and if i dont take it and hold on, and then they lay me off, i dont think i could then turn around and file for unemplyment.

Ugh, i need a laywer or something. I dont want to leave the job so my gut says dont take it, make all job preformance steller, and hold on but is that smart?
