It depends upon which of my alters are taking the shower. I have one who can't face the shower, I have another who won't turn her back away from the wall. I personally like the water to hit my back. The bathroom is very triggering for me. I have to ground before I can go in, as well as when I'm in there. Most of the time, I can't even have the light on while in there. sigh

I had to say OTHER as I turn all around in the shower, facing front, sides, back, even back, with my face upturned into it while leaning my head back.

Recently I have been putting off taking my showers until it gets beyond the point when I should have ages before. THEN when I get in there I ask myself why I took so long to get in there and I am not sure, other than that it is colder at this time of year.

Interesting topic! Also very interesting to see that I'm not the only one with an aversion for the shower knobs & head. I always have my back turned towards them and I hate having to turn even slightly. Everytime I have to touch it (to change temperature) I wash my hands...

These are fascinating responses. I chose "other" because I am constantly scouting the shower and bathroom for a hidden intruder. Ever since I can remember showering independently, I have always had unreasonable paranoia that someone is standing behind me in the shower or on the other side of the curtain. I even have memories of checking the showers at friends' houses when I was little before using their bathroom, just in case he was in there, too.

...Good god. I forgot that this place makes you recognize all this stuff.

Interesting Topic! It made me realise a few things about myself! I hate anything approaching me or touching me from behind. All linked to trauma stuff.

I was thinking about the shower idea - I always face the shower except when rinsing hair = as quick as possible! I'd much rather have a bath....

I said other.

I'm guessing the poll is trauma related as I don't have any bathroom related trauma and thus no need to face one way or the other?
