Spent the whole week preparing delicious whole food plant-based gluten-free vegan vittles for...
Yay you!!! I am also whole food plant based (vegan). I think that is why I have been able to survive as I have with so much good health. I use coconut oil as facial moisturizer. Will have to try it on other parts of body as rub down. Also use it for cuts, scrapes, etc. Amazing stuff. Heals things so quickly. Sometimes I will look through a vegan cookbook to relax and think positive thoughts. Much prefer to prepare my own food. I have taken meals to senior center to give away. a group I belong to has been invited to have an information booth at local farmer's market and we take food samples (vegan). We also do cooking demos there on different days. I would never try to force anyone to "be like me" in any way. But for those who are interested, I am always happy to share information on how healthy this is and how to learn more about it, sample food I have made, etc. I did not like taking supplements. Don't take any meds. But now take b12, dulse (for iodine), D, and A; also ginkgo. I took noni juice when first getting off some bad prescription meds. Pattern was to feel better, stop taking, deteriorate. So now I make sure to have in on hand and try to remember to take it. I have also done a candida cleanse and now doing a probiotic. Little things add up.

Pleasure to meet ya'! Making that shift definitely improved the quality of my existence in ways I thought were totally out of reach for my aging self. I wish it hadn't taken damn near half a century to figure it out, as the long-term damage still rears its ugly head more often than I'd like via chronic pain. We rarely think of the energetic absorption of what we choose to consume. I can never un-see or un-feel it now that I've lived in both worlds, and a few in between.

I do the B12, dulse flakes as a regular seasoning in many dishes, D3, zinc (when I remember), and various tinctures and flower essences as needed/wanted. Did a liver/gall bladder flush after my trip to the ER a little over two years ago. Luckily, it wasn't severe enough to require surgery, and even luckier, I have two friends very well versed in the art of detox and healthy plant-based nutrition, as well as being master herbalists, an iridologist and acupuncturist. Game changers in my world, in every way imaginable. Still amazed at the things I released during those times. Whew! Learning opportunities abound.

It's been well over 5ish+ years worth of trying just about every supplement, diet approach, eliminations, detoxes, etc., and it wore me down even more, on top of the prescription trials and lack of meaningful/thorough care I was receiving via insurance approved providers. Grateful for the patient and generous healers I've met along the way, for each seed planted, and even for the shit that gets tossed my way that I can use as fertilizer. It's all necessary, or so they say. Unlearning more and more every day. lol

We do have a lot in common. It was a path/journey for me. Started eating less meat without realizing, then made conscious decision to be vegetarian for health reasons. My arthritis went away at that time. Then gave up dairy for animals. About a month into this, my allergies disappeared. So healthy. Vegetarian in 2001. Then read it is good for getting off the bad meds. So I made a good choice. Vegan in 2010.

Tell me about your experience with iridologist. I had one appt, about to go back for second. She approved the noni, some supps, put me on some others. Am under so much stress I can hardly cope with anything at the moment. Would really be a basket case if not for the good health practices.

Recently learned I lost 2" in height. Had to research as office person/dr did not discuss. Office person just said "happens in old age". Research showed usually from compressed spinal cord, can be from car accident (last accident last July). Can also be osteoporosis. Had to get that checked to rule it out. As expected, excellent scores for not having osteoporosis (yay vegan diet). But an additional scan showed spinal cord not compressed. Doc said don't worry about it. Too much on my plate to worry about it, but it is perplexing. But the excellent scores for osteoporosis are further proof of how healthy I am.

I have read two books from library and want to get copies for self. One is Confessions of a Medical Heretic and the other is The Chemical Feast (written in @1970 by students working under Ralph Nader). These books really confirmed for me it is best to stay away from western med in general, drugs and surgery in particular. Have not regretted that decision. But I do want to learn more about herbs and natural treatments. So much safer not to mention cheaper.

This day only I am only trying to fast for one whole day! Perhaps I may eat something this early evening, shall see! Don't want to gain weight back!

I always like to do small little things everyday to improve my mood. Yesterday was a Dutch Brothers Mojito Green Tea. The major thing was shopping 3-4 months ago. I bought some cute clothes. This coming up paycheck I am definitely treating myself to a massage though! Groupon is great for those types of things, haha.
