I'm not a driver, the family car is a small 4 cyl turbo though. I live on a hobby farm, we make our own bio fuel for the tractor and pumps from spent cooking oil from the local roadhouse. I farm organicly, no chemicals ever come within cooey of our home or farm. I compost all our household waste, including cardboard and paper. I use neem tree spray for any parasites on cattle or internal worms, same thing for the dogs and cats. My family has planted a huge amount of trees on the property to reduce our carbon footprint and native animals and vegitation is encouraged. In the house I've always used vinigar, bi carbonate of soda, borax and bees wax for cleaning, saves a lot of money. We've got solar and wood fired hot water and also use only fallen old wood gathered on the farm. Our roof is insulated, no aircon and boy does it get hot here! We only use low energy light bulbs and a water efficent shower head. As we're in the bush we only have tank water, so it's very precious and used sparingly....unless it's Feburary/March and the rain is here that is, then we go into cleaning mode and everything gets a clean while there's plenty about. We also grow or raise most of our food, there's not a lot that needs to be bought.....a good thing saves me going out into the real world very often, lol.
