Who Are Your Heroes?

@Ed Norton - How cool. I never knew of them until I met my husband who got his ticket in his 70's. He used to go to all the air shows too. I think there was a big one in WI where he too met the Red Tail guys. I have their dog tag.

I have learned a lot about living by learning things my husband has taught me about flying - situational awareness, etc.

I can see why Come Fly With Me would have more than one meaning for you!

Franciemarnie Your husband got his ticket before I was even born. What type of pilot is he airline or GA? I miss flying so much I doubt I will ever be allowed to fly again:-(

With PTSD I practice see and avoid.

Sorry Radise for the thread creep.

@Ed Norton - Hee, hee. That makes you less than 14 years old. My husband got his ticket when he was 70 years old, which was about 14 years ago. I probably didn't word it right.

He just always wanted to know how to fly and once he got his ticket, would rent planes and fly wherever - Chicago or Hawaii or ..

He worked two jobs all his life and never had the chance to learn. I only met him 8 years ago I think - after his wife died.

At the risk of sounding conceited, ...me, I am my own hero (because I rescued my child-self from a living hell by reaching out for help). I don't really idolize anyone else, but if I do, they would be Jesus, Buddha, the Dali lama, Gandhi, etc. and one particular therapist who I won't name but who went out of her way to help me heal from abuse traumas.
