My therapy is free and that was a deal between my therapist and I. He hasn't charged me in about a year an...

WOW!!:wideeyed:
I can't imagine a T. not charging:wideeyed:

The T.'s I've had give 50 minutes precisely...not a second more.
I've been cut off mid-sentence and even told the session is over WHILE SOBBING:wideeyed:...I kid you not.
Yup, kicked to the curb.

They even charge for making and receiving phone calls, reading emails, signing anything, reading your previous file....and on and on......:sour:

@void I know you weren't asking me but I wanted to reply. SE saved my life. Ten ye...

I'm delighted for you:joyful::joyful::joyful:
I would love to hear some examples of what you were taught by your T., if you or others would be inclined to share. If not, it's okies. Probably quite a few of us would love to learn more about SE in very practical terms.:geek::happy:

@void there are some good youtube vids and any book by Peter Levine would give you details. SE is a give and take between the therapist and client. The client tracks body sensations and completes the trauma response circuit by being guided by the therapist. Ptsd happens when that circuitry is disrupted during the trauma. It can be resolved by completing the circuit.

I'm a little confusing. I put both that my partner and I pay 100% with no reimbursement (currently true) and I put that my government partially pays because for the majority of my life that was true. If I chose I could still request help because I was the documented victim of a violent crime but because I am now in a place where I don't need the help I don't take it any more.

So there's funny data for you.

Some of us have Therapy more than once per week, while others have no Therapy at all, due to cost...and ever...
My parents' insurance covers my therapy almost entirely. I have to pay about 35 bucks every week. CBT my copay went from 20 bucks to nothing. So psychotherapy is more expensive for me but I felt like I stopped benefitting from CBT and needed something new.

I'm very lucky. My boyfriend's parents pay the entire cost of my therapy, because there therapist I go to is out of my network but perfect for me and my needs.

It's my second largest expense after rent, although I spend more than I should on food as well grabbing convenience items from the sandwich shop. I try to tell myself how much worse off I would be if I couldn't leave my apartment to work or if I was suicidal.
