Goal!!!! It's so exciting. Special thanks to @Nicolette for being such a brilliant encourager, and @Recovery4Me who is always diligent about thank-yous.

And.....there's still time to give :p I'm extra-motivated to finish off the tally sheet of where we stand with tickets, so that anyone who wants to better their chances, or give a gift to a friend, still has time.

Firstly, thanks to @joeylittle for the great campaign idea and I look forward to seeing who the lucky winners are. :woot:

In saying that, WE ALL WIN from everyone's donations this year which is a combination of both the monetary funds keeping the forum on line and the time donated from those who selflessly moderate, keeping this place safe. :tup::cool::photogenic:

I was so stoked to see that the fundraising goal had been met. I check the Donate page each day to see how it is going. I hadn't been following these threads! Congratulations to everyone!

I'm setting the goal at $800, which will have us completing our 2016 goal two months ahead of schedule :tup: which would be tremendous. The goal must be met before the draw can occur. And if we can get past that, so much the better.

@anthony - ever the eagle-eye - pointed out to me that the goal for the drive is $800, which it would be easy to confuse with us making the overall goal of $3800.

(@lostforgottensoul asked this question earlier in the thread, and then I forgot to calculate when we passed $3800)

SO: as of today, the October raffle drive has raised $797.00 - which is $3 shy of our goal of $800.

I'm excited to see who gets us across the $800 line! :)
(And will wear a bag on my head for prematurely announcing that we got to the goal. :bag:)

I'll post the ticket tallies soon - I'd like to check in with the anonymous donors first and see how they'd like to be listed (whether they want to stay anonymous, or see their user name with their ticket tally).

Don't be surprised if you find yourself here, without having donated. The number of donations that people made as gifts to other members is truly great :) I would call it astonishing, except in so many ways I'm not surprised at all. This is a generous and thoughtful community.

And we still have 2 more days! Remember, it's not too late to donate - just $3.00 will get you one ticket, for prizes worth as much as $150.

When I set out to run the raffle in October, I was thinking of setting the goal at $1000 - a sort of 10 in 10 thing (Oct. being the 10th month). But, I went conservative with a number that would get us through the overall donation goal. Still...wouldn't it be great if the raffle could raise just another $200, and bring the overall fundraising up to an even four thousand dollars?

I'm going to call that the 'reach' goal. Let's see if this forum can do it!
