I guess feeling confident in my strengths reinforces my behavior enough

I have to agree with you. I take meds for my bad neck but I really like anything physical like brisk ?, mowing yard and organization. I can't run ( I was never a runner anyway) but love the brisk walking. I feel confident in my strengths when I get exercise.

Anxiety has never motivated me, it does the opposite and crushes me. Hate. It.

Fear, otoh, CAN be motivating, by that’s a risk. Just like rage can be motivating, but carries its own risks.

My best motivations are all sourced from a different emotion.
