I have had an experience of a boss who believed me to be a child she put up for adoption based on my birth date in my employee file and a picture she compared to the father. She prevented me from obtaining employment, asked me for pictures of my family, asked me for DNA testing, and inevitably assaulted me on the job. I filed a complaint with security, reported her to everyone I could think of and she turned the story around saying I claimed to be her biological daughter.
Despite that I carry my birth certificate in my wallet, I have a stamp on it from travel, have NO reason to think I am adopted, and provided as many facts as I could recall, not mentioning I maintained annual physicals with the same primary care physician for 10 years during my employment. I consistently provided a detailed family history and the same physician at one point seen my mother as a patient. I was reprimanded, suspended and my former world class employer tried to fire me. I left my job and I have been harassed ever since. To my knowledge she was not reprimanded, had a witness who lied for her, and she still has her job and has been promoted. She continues to maintain her lying and people believe her.
Despite trying to keep me from an advanced education, I have completed my education; however I continue to be harassed to return to my previous employment and even harassed to apologize to her and her coworker who assaulted me out of sheer dislike for me and vindictive demeanor. That coworker tried to claim to be a close “friend” because she participated in making party favors for my wedding, attended my wedding and because I spent a day trip with her when her mother passed away out of compassion. I genuinely feel unsafe.
I have been diagnosed with a general anxiety disorder and if you ask me, I have some post trauma symptoms related to the whole event. It sickens me.
