World is Turning PTSD Crazy

Amazing... Ok I was molested, raped, broke my back in military service, lost everything I knew and loved, developing seizure activity, etc etc... But I never called it PTSD until I was told and even now I feel like especially from military service you just get back up and keep on. I fight for every freaking thing in my life and it is difficult but a sprained ankle won't slow me down. I guess the overuse of PTSD is scary. But I personally have always felt that unless someone informed me that I was broken, I never would have known.

It's like, 50 yrs ago they'd say hey, get up go to work and just cope. Now I see people w all ranges of disability injury etc being treated. Not sure how I feel about that, even my own treatment. I'm constantly apologetic bc I feel like I'm wasting other people's valuable time w my insignificant problems.

I'm curious, since this thread was revived, if people here feel more disturbed by over-diagnosed PTSD as publicized in media or by media demonization of PTSD. Seems to me if you don't have PTSD from a divorce then you have it for real reasons and are a ticking time bomb waiting to kill everyone. As told by pop media, I mean. Honestly I'd rather it be over diagnosed than to constantly pick up an unassuming newspaper and see some insane headline about how someone who did a bad thing has PTSD and ain't that just typical of those homicidal crazies.

I demand more footage of Hugh Jackman's Wolverine crying in a closet or Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man hiding under the covers, damn it.
