If you find hard data on this please let me know. I am fascinated to find out what is going on with reactivations

They don't really know. Copied and pasted two lines of a news article. The doctors can't rule it out yet.

Is it a persistent infection?
Short answer: it could be.

Now if only I could find hair ties. I wonder if rubber bands would work?

I am sure I have hair ties somewhere. Someone on reddit advised of a no sew option using hair ties. Im thankful you posted it!

My sister shared this video on facebook:

People like this is going to get a lot of people killed. Everything he said is false and it suprises me that a nurse, my sister is a nurse, would spread this nonesense. Terrifies me!

Please don't self medicate. Nothing has been proven to be effective to covid-19 and safe yet.

I think Anthony was right on with people in the US's desire of freedom is going to be the fall of the US. How many more doctors are out there saying "want your freedom? You want to be free?" Are you f*cking kidding me? This stuff is terrifying. Especially spread by a nurse.

I did reply to her with more words then this but wasn't sure if I was allowed to post it but this crap is terrifying. Welcome to the world of Facebook, eh?

It is about to get ugly here...

There have been more restrictions placed on us along with the extended "shelter in place" orders.

Small businesses are surely to perish. Keeping the big chains open and closing the smaller shops. You can go to home depot for paint or flowers but they closed independent paint stores and farms down. I can buy flowers just not from the family down the street who's livelihood depends on sales this time of year.

A friend of mine has a cabinet company. He laid off his staff and is working by himself. People still want their kitchen cabinets. He's working by himself and received a $1,000 ticket driving because he's not essential. He will lose his business if he can't work.

My bff owns her own salon. She's unable to get unemployment benefits and there is no financial help for small business owners.

This is going to destroy our economy. If it hasn't already.

It is definitely going to get worse before it gets better. If J wasn't working now we would be screwed. Employment benefits have not been distributed yet. Going into week 4.

The city of Detroit has been hit the hardest. Low income areas. Which I believe the makeshift hospitals are for them. They are adding more hospitals too. Building one in a car dealership now. Hospitals are laying off people by the thousands!!

I'm gonna do a supply run early tomorrow morning. Make one last trip for essentials. Like beer and whiskey. Lol. It is only a matter of time before we won't be able to get those things either.

People are saying "welcome to communist Michigan".

Ugh!!

People like this is going to get a lot of people killed.

^I couldn't stand listening to this idiot. He immediately dips into what the weather is like - I don't care, then what his friend (no name) tells him about his miraculous regime for smashing the virus & then gets political about various items he reckons we should go buy.
But what he really wants is people to log on so he can count his followers? Kept checking... whatever. Somebody needs to get that uniform off him & lock him up for a week.

LFS if you want to do something good - report him to facebook for spreading false information or whatever you reckon.

Our government here in Australia is asking youtube to take down false information re covid19.

Beer & whiskey are essentials LL - cannot run out of those! :cautious: I've been pondering getting a few bottles of wine to relax with in the evening after a hard day of doing absolutely nothing at all.

We've been shut down since the middle of last month and will continue till May 4th and it's the same thing. Big places stayed open, little places had to close. Can't get hair or nails done, kids out of school for the year, etc.

People are going to get bigger unemployment checks as part of the save but you can't file a claim because there are so many people calling in its crashing the system. Small businesses can get no interest loans but same thing...too many people calling in But. It's stopped the spread of the disease and kept thousands from dying. So we won't be able to say if it's worth it until we look back from the other side.

It has made me wonder ---isn't this what happens during disasters? Floods, hurricanes, earthquakes, that type of thing? We don't get those here so I have zero experience with it. But doesn't everything comes to a halt till the rebuilding is over? How do people survive then, when every thing is shut down?

The sad thing is the American mentality. In Florida they are still allowing churches to meet with zero social distancing even though they know people are going to die. But they don't care. Because it's their "right" and if that kills someone else? Not their problem. I keep seeing that over and over... "The government can't tell me what to do" because that's what's important to us. Even if hundreds of thousands have to die...we must have our rights to do whatever we want. It's depressing.

He didn't spread it to facebook, my sister did. I told her what I thought of it in a long reply.

Yes but thats local. Not the entire country. FEMA helps out in those cases. And its easier to deal with as its just that local area. The entire country has never shut down this long in my experience. Plus, businesses not effected can stay open and only close during the curfews set as it dangerous to drive at night with traffic and road lights out and debris everywhere. Local small businesses dont get hit unless the natural disaster took them out and if so, its sort of the same thing.

Different but sort of simular. But the main difference is its local and not the entire country

Isn't Florida the State older citizens go to retire? Forgive my ignorance I think it might be based on some incorrect info & too many sitcoms lol.

But if it's demographic is lots of elder citizens then they will find themselves in a pickle because our elders do not do well with it.

Here, it's the Easter long weekend. The place is deserted! Well, the streets are & there has been heavy media campaign to make sure everyone knows that this is not the long weekend to go camping, holidaying or visiting. I think most people have got the message.

Our fines are in the thousands and several hundred have been issued to people who thought the law didn't apply to them. Oh well... we're spending so much on ventilators and stuff every cent that returns to consolidated revenue will help.

I've got no chocolate! There should be a law against that. Easter bunny doesn't arrive till Sunday and I'm in withdrawal. Though I think he/she will not be dropping any off at my home anyway.

Every time I consider going out I ask myself if it's worth being dead for it. Strangely the answer keeps coming back as a no... sigh... I think my online shopping needs to step up. I can buy grog & chocolate. Essential supplies I'm insisting on it. Something has to be normal!

you cant fix stupid, but it makes good TV and that's probably why we know or care about it. Was that the goal? did the church alert the press or was it a journalist calling to see if they were going to fill the pews? Cameras on site, were they invited?

Some good news....estimates for American deaths are below 100,000 now.

yep Florida is old people central
or was it a journalist calling to see if they were going to fill the pews? Cameras on site, were they invited?

I've seen several reports. One had reporters in the parking lot asking people if they were worried about meeting. everyone of them said no...Because Jesus won't let them get sick. Saw a couple of pastors interviewed...they are very proud they are staying open because "government won't tell us what to do" and "Jesus protects the faithful".
There's one church that has 1000 people and that preacher was ecstatic that it was full because, again,"Jesus is protecting us"

The idea that they might spread it to others? Totally irrelevant.

But remember, this is the same place that has 25000 people on the beach for spring break when everyone else was staying home. sooo....

Isn't Florida the State older citizens go to retire?
Yep. Sigh

Oklahoma had a revern die. It was there first patient. ( I remenber reading about him) Stupid people. Illness isn't selective about occupation. I'm sure there are more revs. and not just an OK thing.

He's not out of line. He's mad at the news. The mother delivered the baby very early. The baby didn't die of Covid. He's also saying to use this time to stay healthy and buy vegetables and exercise. I'm glad your sister is sharing the video to everyone she knows!

I've been fighting the waves of depression and anxiety I've been getting. Some video calls with friends and family have held me over. There is some comfort in having enough money to buy food, and my most frequented supermarket being pretty much stocked like normal, just 1-2 things running out a bit faster than usual.

Last weekend we had 40h lockdown(no going out between Saturday 13pm and Monday 5am) that went very quick for me because I had 2 ballet classes to virtually attend and 1 video call. Time went fast. This weekend it starts from 5pm Friday to 5am Monday, I think they are afraid that people will want to go socialising more because of Easter. All cool and well except that it's triggering for me and having bad mental health day right now, not being able to go out for window shopping or walking reprieve is making me want to crawl out of my own skin. But who cares, those are the rules... Thankfully I did go to the store before this began. But I'm having a really bad mental health day, simple stuff like getting groceries or showering take so much time and effort out of me. It's the kind of day where my mental health suddenly jumps to priority n1 and other tasks get pushed forward for few hours. I know the situation is the situation and I have been respecting every rule we've been given. I'm just having a bit of a meltdown over it right now.

The weekend will be easier, ballet and all that. But today is low. I guess I have to accept that this situation could shake my balance a bit. And to just try and work with the way it is.
