Preventable? Not fully. Vaccinated, wear a mask around anyone, keep 6 feet or more from everyone, live alone, wash my hands every time I touch anything and use hand sanitizer, my job has a cleaning crew that not only walks around sanitizing every desk about every half an hour throughout the entire day but they also sanitize your station after you sit there fully top to bottom and put a trash bag over the seat to say they sanitized that station but I still sanitize my desk before sitting there each morning. They sit us 10 to 15 feet apart depending on how the desks are situated and everything is through chat and video, nothing is in person. After all that, I still got Covid. I don't know if it's fully preventable and I think we will all get this eventually.I really hope this wave ends soon, I'm getting really tired of pretending to be unaffected while my patients are dying of a preventable transmitted illness.
You certianly shouldn't pretend it's not effecting you. At least when you are out of work. Allow yourself to feel what you need to feel. Cry, scream, let it out. That's healthy. Again, maybe you can't do that at work but after work, give your feelings space!
