Worst Anxiety Attack In Ages Last Night

No idea why. I'm studying for the California bar exam - that's probably part of it. Just stress. But it came out of nowhere and hit like a ton of bricks. I'm actually still off balance because of it.

I was at the barn, riding one of my horses when it started. He's getting over an injury so I'm slowly bringing him back and it was kind of late so I was riding in the dark.

I don't know if any of you ride but riding in the dark is kind of surreal anyway. He's fine - he can see - and he just trucks right along. But it's kind of like what they say about flying on instruments - you can't really see the ground well so there's a sort of odd quality to it of motion without frame of reference. I generally love it and I've never had it trigger an anxiety attack. But last night, about halfway through the ride, I thought I was going to fall off I was so dizzy and my ears were buzzing so bad.

Had to take a Klonopin and it took me until about 2 this morning to really get to sleep. And I took another this morning. Irritating. I haven't had one like this in a long time. I take Cymbalta daily and I missed my pill yesterday morning - didn't take it until 3 in the afternoon. I wondered if that had anything to do with it but I've done that before too (don't you love having to take a bunch of pills because you're spacey but you're so spacey that you can't remember to take your pills?).

Anyway, it sucked. And I need to get back to bar prep.

This set back could have been a combination of missing your pill and prepping for this bar. If you've never had this kind of stress at the same time as missing a pill, it makes sense that you wouldn't be familiar with being triggered this way.

The exam alone is enough to make anyone panic. Try to take breaks after every couple of hours of studying so you don't overwhelm yourself.

I hope this is helpful. Good luck.

And I am sure you are tired too. Getting ready for this exam is very hard on you mentally and physically.
Missing your meds didn't help.
I am sorry that happened. And they are exhausting also.
As was suggested.. Take breaks and stay hydrated.
Hope you are ok now!

Thanks. I gave myself a day of rest today. Lit a fire in the woodstove, cuddled with kitties and never left the house. I did some review and flash cards but didn't go crazy on the studying. And I napped for about 3 hours.

Feel a ton better. It doesn't help that I have what is probably lupus on top of all this which does NOT help (I have several markers for lupus - positive ANA, chronic fatigue, systemic joint pain and sun sensitivity but so far no organ involvement so my rheumatologist is reluctant to call it definitely as lupus as yet - but I certainly have some form of auto-immune disorder).
