Normally after about 1.5 hoours sleep hubby gets up following a nightmare. He seems to have 'accepted' this as his norm & quietly goes downstairs and grounds himself with his routines. Tonight he had been asleep in bed for just about an hour then woke because of a nightmare, he was more troubled and desperate to get downstairs. My heart started pounding and I couln't stay in bed. I went downstairs because of my anxiety about how disoriented he seemed and I startled him & now I feel guilty. He said the nightmare was worse for him than usual.
He's made himself a drink of horlicks and is gonna watch a film on his computer with the earphones and will usually snooze on and off.
My heart's stopped pounnding and I feel calmer. He get's worried about me not getting enough sleep, which is ironic, so the best thing I can do is go back to bed and put my relaxation/guided imagery disc on. Phew perhaps it was just a little drama after all.
