Would You Change Your Name?

I can fully understand your reason, that must have been horrific for you, I wish there was something positive I could say, but words fail me.

I changed my name and yes indeed it helped! Feels like Im free now without the old name tying me down in chains of lost meories of things that never where and never could be. With new name Its my life - Ive taken back control somewhat.
If someone doesnt know my new name and refer to the old one I instantgely become sick. Its part of a world I dont want to be asscosiated with.

I lost 2 family members to homicide. I remember the news vans, and the reporters, and the articles in the papers. I moved and then changed my name, and I have absolutely no regrets. The name change gave me space, room to breathe. It allowed me to move on, and not think about 'it' every single day. It also meant reporters couldn't find me, and neither could the perpetrators. I treated my name change like a form of witness protection, and I will never go back to the old name.

@brokenEMT - thanks to you.
Guess this was my thought when I changed name. Need for air. My name now is Birch in storm - a famous painting here in Noway. Symbolize how strong the birch stands on the mountain despite storm and heavy weather.

I keep thinking about changing my name, but before I do I need to clear my criminal record.
