You Know You Have PTSD When...

When you are stuck in reverse, goign nowhere but backwards or standing still.

When you go to get something and you can't remember what it was, when you have to wrote everything down immediately before you forget and your head moves on to the next thing ( or is this just old age setting in already)

OMG so relate to read and read again thing, my concentration is dreadful and my head is elsewhere to absorb anything.

Yeah that explains A LOT for me. Almost terrifying that I didn't account my lack of focus and concentration (or ability to absorb material that I read) to PTSD. Ugh, I should've known. Man now I really have to fix this. Didn't realize that most of my symptoms are what you guys are also feeling. Which is helpful since now I know how widespread this disorder really is. Wow I'm shocked.

Here's my contribution:

You know you have PTSD when:

- you laugh at the most sadistic jokes without flinching.
- your sleep schedule often is nonexistant or only begins around 6am.
- you feel like you somehow have a tinge of every other disorder known to man.
- you look up synonyms for depression bc you're tired of hearing/using that word in general conversations.

when you can be surrounded by people yet still feel so alone.

When you are here in person but somewhere else in mind, totally disconnected from life and feelings.

yup that about sums it up. >.<'

here's one more:

You know you have PTSD when:

- you forget to eat all day and so at 3am, you decide to eat a mean combo of breakfast+lunch+dinner+midnight snack.

You know you have Ptsd when you live with it longer then you ever lived without it.

You know you have Ptsd when stress and it's followers, are your life-time rival and can flatten you, pummeling you without mercy.

You know you have Ptsd when the vast majority of everyone you've even known cares very little about how you got it, that you have it or not, and/or what it even is, they simply want to know what you're going to do about it and how soon.

You know you have PTSD when one sentence in a book can ruin not only your day but your entire week and leave you sobbing like an abandoned baby.

Oh I hate when that happens when I'm listening to music. Especially when I deliberately play that song at night on repeat. Ugh just inviting torture/trouble. Bad bad habit.

You know you have PTSD when:
you avoid certain nouns which remind you of your past.

when you have to wrote everything down immediately before you forget and your head moves on to the next thing

... but you write things down in a different place each time, so the things you need to buy are written down across three different notebooks, various scraps of paper and the backs of a couple of envelopes, most of which you've either lost or thrown away anyway.

You know you have PTSD when you on your honeymoon alone and think that's perfectly normal! Only after the bitter divorce to think, "hmmmmm, could that have been a sign?"
Oh my... that's brutal. :O

You know you have PTSD when you realize you've been sitting in the same public place for over 30 minutes.

[On average for me: 2 hours. What a waste of the day.]
