My name is Nick and I am currently 20 years old. The cause of my PTSD was a mixture of different events, the main cause being sexually assaulted by my fathers wife when I was around 14 or 15 many of my memories are very repressed though I do have triggers that will cause them to resurface. I suffer from clinical depression as well but I do not intend to let these disorders hinder me from fulfilling my dreams and making my mark on our world

Welcome to the forum! I think you'll find most of us to be a supportive and friendly bunch.

Are you currently working with a therapist?

I like your enthusiasm and determination to build and live your life, in spite of the things you've been through!

Again, welcome and please feel free to post about anything on your mind! :)

Hi Stello,

F*uck the bitch that did that to you! That must have been incredibly confusing... It sounds like you're motivated to heal and move forward- well done! ...and welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the forum. Depression can be part of PTSD, or I guess I should say it is caused by it. Anthony said this in one of his articles.

How awful what was done to you is! But you deciding to make the best of your life and working toward that is the best decision you could make. Sharing your story here, receiving understanding from folks who have suffered similar things, is such a blessing for me. I hope it will be fore you too.

Here you can discuss how your abuse is effecting you and ask for advice from other sufferers about what they would do or what they have done in similar situations. It is amazing how many times folks here have done that for me.

For the best comic relief on the forum, search for a thread called You Know You Have PTSD When in the Chit Chat section. There you will find so much to identify with and laugh about too, which you cannot believe will happen when you read that thread, but it does! Then sharing your own quirky things will help us all too. Check it out.

Hi Nick,

Welcome to the forum!

Determination and a positive attitude are the best tools for recovery, and it is great that you have that. I hope you find this site and the support here beneficial.

Debbie
