As to why would you read it if it's upsetting, I for one had no idea what it was about! Kept reading to find out.
Humour that normalises sexism, racism or any other ism just isn't funny to me, and especially when it shames people for not laughing along - as this thread has done.
It matters if people say it does - and they did but if got ignored.

If you are going to implicate me in doing that, I think you had better explain how you come to the idea that my taking a rapid liking to someone on an internet forum because of their intelligence (which is the foundation of this thread), normalises an 'ism.

You shared how you feel, I shared how I feel, we will agree to disagree, hopefully. But we can't protect the world. We can not cushion every word said here. I appreciate how this made you feel,it was upsetting. I get that...and, if in turn, you felt I shamed you, that was not my intent.
And I wonder now, what is this really about. Underlying issues for both of us? Hell, sorry , I'm going now. Getting frustrated. My issue to deal with... and I am very clear what this has triggered in me. So will go tend to that now. I intend on having a good day... will tend to myself and keep on keepin' on.

@Junebug, thanks for the laugh... I am so aware of how much people like 'puppies' !! So grateful I am old and that is not the first thing looked at anymore !!! You would think with all that weight pulling down,, it would help my face not to be so wrinkled...nature can be so unkind !!:laugh:
