Into the Light, I've lost animal companions, my Buddy and Chewey were rescue chow chows... but can take some comfort knowing, that my husband and I did everything we could to care for them. You did too. Zeus knows how much you love him. You were the blessing in his life just as his devotion and companionship has been a blessing in yours.

I got three more rescues now, two have special needs, one was shot out at my fishcamp. Life has a way of bringing people and animals together. I believe it. I think that they teach us how to love and be loved unconditionally.

I saw this thread show up on my alerts and thought Oh Lord please no. There's nothing anyone can say to make this hurt less-God I'm so sorry. I do absolutely believe with all my heart they are always around us, stopped caring how kooky that sounds, they just are. I still talk to Maquire and I know she hears me.
