Is It Normal To Forget How Old You Are?

Asked a friend today if it was weird that I keep forgetting how old I am. She said yes.

Does anyone else ever forget how old they are? I thought that this was just what happened as people aged. But maybe it isn't?

I always forget how old I am and it's frustrating having to count the years... lol
I think it's because I don't feel my age. I don't feel like an adult Im too silly to be an adult

I always have to stop and think how old I am when someone asks. I can't remember! I usually have to work out some math before I can answer...

I have to take a moment when asked my age. There are many things I cannot recall, most likely due to my PTSD.

When I was 5 years and 10 months old, that piece of information was the most important fact in the world. Now that I'm 40, it's easy to remember because it's a round number. I was never entirely sure whether I was 37 or 38. I may well continue to be 40 for a few years, unless I count.

I have had to do the math since I turned 31. Kind of like, @BlueOrange - I was able to remember 39 and 40. Now, no-mans-land again.

I actively try to forget. Why everyone around me feels the need to remind me I am one year closer to death, i don't know.

My age is more important to them than me. I just wish they'd leave me out of it.

I am still so astounded and amazed I lived to be this old... I keep my age front and center, because when I am hobbling around the store... it is important that people help old ladies !!!

Yep, I have to do the maths too as I never think about my birthday or how old I am. I remember the year I was born easily enough (it doesn't change!), but it always takes me a little while to be sure what the year is now (I know vaguely the year but then have to think a little more for 2015 or 2016 etc), then the maths of actually working out how old that means I am. I saw a T for a little while last year who when she asked, thought I was avoiding the "how old are you" question since I couldn't answer straight away, she commented that it wasn't a trick question.

Forever 28 here. ;) I've always thought it was normal to forget or have to momentarily figure out how old you are sometimes, especially the older you get.

I'm in my 30s. Where exactly in my 30s? Eh. I'd have to do the math.

But since it is the height of rudeness to ask any woman over the age of 26 her age? I figure I'm good ;)

Lol, I always have to do the math, too. Unless it's within a couple days of my birthday. Then I'm really aware of it. The rest of the year, I basically forget it.
