Out of curiosity, how many of you who answered yes live in a carpeted home? Or maybe it's related to the fabrics you wear or are in your home.

I answered no... We have hardwood floors and am particular about my fabrics so maybe that has an effect?

I'm just curious about how many others have problems with static electricity. We know that ptsd causes changes in our biochemistry. I'd like to see some studies on this aspect, too.

Anyway, I have really annoying problems with static electricity. When the humidity is like below 50 percent, I get bad shocks from touching metal, particularly car doors. It really hurts. For another example, I have to ask my husband to take the sheets off our bed for washing, because if I do it, there are sparks everywhere! Sometimes I'm afraid I'm going to spontaneously combust or cause a fire!! I also wonder if this is why I can't wear a watch. They stop working on me.

I was having that problem too and a friend told me it was because I dragged my feet when I walked. So I started paying attention to that and it became less frequent. Its also fun to drag your feet on top of the carpet for a while and then zap your friend! :)

Yep.

But not having much touch issue, wearing gloves often and all. Meditate it away when I feel those zaps building up. & Watching the weather in advance; I know I'll prolly be crazy reactive prior to storms and some pressure changes, so better taking the wind out of it than add up more.

As a kid yes! Lots of se, but i grew up in a cold climate and dry air is condusive to se.

When stressed, I tend to blow a lot of bulbs, should have stock in GE.

As a child/young adult I used to ruin wind up watches until I got a kinetic watch...only one I've ever had that kept on ticking..wish I still had it! :/

This always happens to me no matter what I'm wearing, no matter where I am, no matter what the weather is like, and no matter what I touch. I always wondered if there was some sort of biological explanation. I've turned my ceiling light on without even touching it. I reached to pull the chain, and a electric bolt what from my finger to the chain about five or six inches away and it turned the light on and left a mark on my finger. I've also been electrocuted about three times.

I had a really emotionally charged session with T this week. I could feel the energy inside of me and asked the T, who always offers, to open door so I wouldn't get shocked. Curious..,l reached out toward T holding door. I was about an inch from touching her arm when the static electricity struck her and made her yelp and jump. I apologized .and said maybe now I wouldn't get shocked on next door going out of building....no such luck. T just shook her head and said it was so weird how that only happens to me out of all her patients. It depends on how much I "feel" when in a session how much I will "feel" in a shock. More intense session=more intense shock.

Nope! I am, very nearly, immune to electricity ;)

Fun to play with, making stars on a bathrobe fresh out of a dryer in the dark for my kiddo, or letting tadpoles swim up my arm with a wet hand on an outlet plug... But I think I've had big zaps too many times for the little zaps to register as anything other than sparkly or tickles.

Sometimes me and my daughter get a kind of buzz feeling in our arms! It is strange because it is only us that it happens to even though I have two more kids :sneaky:
