In my humble, lowley opinion..you get what you asked for. I was stupid enough to join the police, so I don't bitch and moan about the decision. Now in hindsight, I wouldn't have wasted a second- but no one held a gun to my head, so I eat it like a big boy.
Watching these few combat veterans on CNN today, ball licking Colin Kaepernick, while calling all police pigs.....puzzles me. A spoiled, retard quarterback, who was nuthugged through high school, college, and his adult life has earned gratuitous respect as a hero....for playing games and swimming in cash and women? While the men and women who serve every nightshift in shithole cities, protecting all the families here, are all pigs?
Maybe I just need to vent here beause my head literally feels like it's going to explode, but as a guy who served as a lowley frontline cop, volunteer firefighter, and humble reserve military guy, I find it just the slightest bit offensive considering I would never judge a guy/gal in a heavy combt zone....being as I have no f*cking clue, and didn't earn that particular t-shirt.
For the record, the closest I came to dying, was getting trapped in a fire, while serving as a cop, and being stupid trying to be a hero. I got rescued by firemen, so, I tend to appreciate all my fellow emergency service workers....military or otherwise.
1 tour overseas, 3 tours overseas, 15 years policing, 35 years policing. I didn't realize there was a priority on sacrafice, but again I'm slow.
