I admittedly have not been following this case too closely, but read the first full interview with Derrick Rose's accuser today. Here is the link for anyone who is interested: Dead Link Removed

In light of all the recent discussions on here along the lines of "how to spot a rapist" and "how to identify a stalker" and other such discussions, I found her description of how the relationship evolved very interesting. Especially the fact that he claimed to not know what consent is. And if it's true that they broke up because she wouldn't have group sex with him and his friends, that, to me, is a clear sign of an abuser. Ugh.

Not necessarly. My ex wanted me to do that and he wasnt a sexual abuser...though he was abusive verbal and physically so i guess that holds true as an abuser, just not a sexual abuser but i can see other men asking for this and many women do as well. My step sister does with her husband. They are respectful of each other's wishes though and both have to agree before they do it though.

Just trying to say that just the fact of asking "will you have a 3 some with my buddy and me", alone, isnt necessarly a sign of an abuser.

@lostforgottensoul Oh, I meant it seems abusive if he broke up with her because she refused. I don't think the fact of asking alone is abusive, not at all. But if someone dumps you simply because you won't do it? That's screwed up.

It seems to be a very common thread, people literally participating in human trafficking and thinking nothing of it. How disgusting that is I can not even explain.

A predator does know very well what consent is of course, but a predator will not consent to the fact that a victim has the right to decide what is right for them in their life. Whenever I know that there is no chance to be with someone I say my good byes very early, and that floors many of them out there. I may only know a person for a couple of days and I will unmistakably tell them goodbye, in a friendly way of course.

There have been many predators who have walked over that good bye like it did not happen, then turn around and pretend that they had some sort of relationship and who like to pretend to make the victim believe that the predator attempted to get rid of the guilty person, the victim. It is very complicated but I have witnessed it many times. Woman tells man to take a hike, man ignores her friendly good bye, man gets mad, man pretends to "dump" the victim and then tries to get "back" with the victim. One has to have a very strong mind to see through those tactics and if one is stricken with PTSD then one will often not realize what is going on.
