We dissociate and can't recall events.
We find strange clues as to our behaviour or whereabouts, and try to figure out what we did.

I'm going to tell you my lastest, can you please help me brainstorm?

Twice this week: Pulled back the covers of my bed, bed is full of grass and dirt. :O_o:
Freshly mown grass and potting-mix soil.
Your guess is as good as mine.

What dissociative mysteries of your own would you like solved?

I noticed it when climbing into bed, before attempting sleep :wacky:

Has sleepwalking presented itself similarly to you, @Silver. ?

I have done some very strange things whilst sleepwalking inculding turning off our water supply, hiding my passport, turning out cupboards.

So it could be that you did it whilst asleep. If you are finding it as you get into bed are you sleeping else where during the day?

I hope you don't mind that I find this hilarious! That would drive me absolutely nuts. My first thought after reading this was about how much laundry you must be doing.

My biggest thing is putting things back where they belong when I'm dissociated, then I can't find them later because why would I look where it belongs? I know I went to bed dissociated when I wake up and my face is washed and the clothes I was wearing the day before are hung up nicely or put in the laundry. I don't know what this says about my non-dissociated personal hygiene.

I do sleepwalk Pixel, though I've never gardened while doing it lol
People have told me to lock doors, so I don't go outside (which doesn't work, we're not dumb when sleepwalking, we can unlock them)
I can kind of sense when there is a chance for me to sleepwalk, so I set up a bit of an obstacle course stemming from my bed (bunches of blankets and pillow etc), so that is usually where I end up (instead of my normal sitting outside in a chair or the swing)
not sure if that will help you or not, it can get pretty scary waking up outdoors, or finding you have been outside without your knowledge
*hugs*

:D me too! :hilarious:

why on earth i put white sheets back on the bed is beyond me!

Poofy, maybe your dissociated self knows hygiene aint just for Saturdays anymore! ;)(joking) ;)

I've never been a sleepwalker, more inclined to believe this is a dissociative event. Thank you for your suggestion @Silver. im relieved that you can possibly sense a sleepwalking event, so you act to keep yourself safe and warm :) (by the way, welcome back hun!)

I have way too many days where I don't have ANY clue what I did all day. It just isn't there in my memory. I've ordered weird things off Amazon, I've gone to teach martial arts (and been told later that I was there but seemed a little 'strange'), I've driven places, I've made phone calls. And tons of other stuff. I HATE dissociation. It may have saved my life when I was a child, but I am ready for it to be gone. I don't need it anymore.

This may not be relevant but I think I do have dissociative parts, I struggle with eating - in the day I find it very difficult. But then if I have a sleep around midnight and get up two hours later - sort of half asleep - it's totally simple to eat...

Sorry, coming from gaslighting spouse, l have to ask, is there a chance SO put this in your bed? Because my spouse did those kinds of things when l was sleeping. He only needs 3 hours of sleep because of his manic state. My phone would disappear. My car registration would be next. And then unimportant things
like my Costco card, etc. But it was always the same items.

@C j - if you unravel that, let me know. I've done that for ages, and I have DID with different parts having very different attitudes to eating. I never linked the 2, but maybe...???

if I can, I definitely will. This morning around 2am I managed to swallow with ease, and afterwards I had an awareness of feeling more like a young male part which I have. The daytime I feel I am adult me, the actual grown woman I am. I am also thinking that because the night is calmer I know I have no obligations at night so a more confident, relaxed, younger self is in control at that time.. It's very strange indeed..this younger self also loves Star Wars LEGO  (I haven't purchased any - yet!)
