I get it. When we were raising my wife's little sister (and it's my biggest regret in life that we never had kids of our own), she was the only reason I got up in the morning. I was on state disability for a year and depressed most of my 30s, but I lived for that child, literally.

'Course, now she's married w/ 2 babies of her own ... makes me feel OLD. I call myself their "Tiabuela," "aunt grandma," cuz they're the closest I'll get to grandbabies. And they are beautiful, just the most adorable kids. <sigh> Happy to send them back home when they get stinky or fussy, though.

Greetings

Mine is of a salt lamp, it sits on the dresser and is a focal point for me.

When alone in my room I look at it, studying the irregular lines, the bumps, the internal color variations, if it were to fall on a hard floor it would most likely break apart.... or not... it just might lose a part or two...... it is a solid hunk of salt anyway.... that's a gazillion years old..... but its still here.

Btw.... that's me as well....
