I Have Started Dbt And Abuse Therapy This Week

Its been an busy week, Had just begun abuse therapy at the Life Crisis Center (Rape/Abuse Recovery Center) yesterday, and today I started DBT.

I hope all this stuff makes a difference, its a lot to take on as now I have

Weekly DBT Group
Weekly Abuse Counseling at Life Crisis Center
weekly Trauma Group which includes WRAP
Bi-Weekly or more Individual Therapy with Therapist
Monthly Psychiatrist

@Lola Nocheprieta My therapist and I were concerned it might be too much, that concern was communicated with the facilitator, I can drop out and pick it up later at the beginning of a DBT module later.

I am trying to do everything I can to take care of me and be safe, during all of this.

@Becky I know it pays off as I had some of the DBT material when I was in PHP. It helped me a lot (keep me from being committed) before I was hospitalized at SP TDU. And many of the same material was presented at SP, and I use today to cope, be in the moment, and safe.

I am at a precarious place with all this, its a bad time in the year for me, and I am in the middle of one of my cycles. So far the meds are containing it, I am getting the visual and perceptual distortions I get when its worse, and I am getting the lethargy, and now insomnia. I hope that's the worse of it.

Gosh I get insomnia too. I have to take trazadone or I can go days without sleeping. Please do everything you can to take good care of yourself! Christmas brings out a lot of horrific memories for a lot of us. Sending warm thoughts...
