At the end of the day, I have learned, the hard way I might add, that you are correct in its simplist form.

There was nothing I could do or say in all these years to prove my loyalty, love, ethics, and trustworthiness. At the end of the day, I am a liar and a cheat in her mind. I will accept what others have said that the sufferer truly believes the baseless accusations but the belief exists nonetheless in her mind. In spite of my best efforts, the love was sucked out of me till I was left standing there an empty shell of what once was.

So yes @Rumors you we're right and your one word answer makes perfect sense to me today.

Sorry that you are obviously hurting. It is black and white to me about trust. When you look at the complexities of love, you begin to understand that what you perceive as love really isn't healthy thus realizing that perhaps it isn't really love. Filling a hole or need isn't love. Love is kind, patient, and understanding. It isn't abusive, punishing, hurtful, boastful, or contingent upon your behavior.
