Adderall For Ptsd Symptoms

Has anyone used adderall for PTSD? I tried it and my anxiety completely went away. And I'm talking about this kind of anxiety: being scared to leave my bed, to do anything in the house for fear of the parts of myself that rage at me and viciously criticize me - just as my father did. When I take the medication, the anxiety dissipates. The memories go away and I can function with out fear of those internalized critics. I also do not have flashbacks when I use it.

Yep. I've been on it for about a year now and it's been amazing. it's helped my anxiety levels and depression enormously. I'm also far less likely to dissociate when I'm on it. It allows me to think in a linear manner, like prioritize and figure out the individual steps for dealing with a problem or completing tasks. I'm 100% sure I would have been fired from my job without it.

I just started taking it 3 months ago it's been amazing for me I'm a Salesman it allows me to approach people and talk to them in a calm confident manner instead of staring everybody down making sure I get like 3 feet of space I'm going to keep using it

I'm on the brink of failing so miserably at my job that I lose it, and finally after begging my Dr, I got a prescription yesterday. Today was the most successful work day in Forever. And no flashbacks! It's like they're there but you don't get sucked in.

I’m on it for ADHD but I we think a lot of my ADHD comes from Problems as a child resulting in PTSD and it works great for me if I remember to take it. Ha!

Am glad you asked that question! I am debating myself on asking my doc to take me off the paroxetene and trial a short course of Adderall. It sounds like you had a very good experience with it.

I have PTSD (CPTSD to be specific) and was just diagnosed with ADD at the age of 29 last month. I'm starting to question if some of my PTSD symptoms were really ADD or if the Adderall is helping with the PTSD,. I was very surprised to notice a huge shift in my anxiety and mood. I can now calmly listen to people without getting agitated or anxious. I can control my mood swings and haven't had a panic in almost a month! I no longer feel like I'm on high alert walking on eggshells and can have relaxing days reading or going on a walk.
