I gather you don't realize how much rage there still is here about Trump
I do, actually. But that rage has curbed to some degree of acceptance for what is now... and more having to deal with the aftermath than be angry about who is leading America. Who runs any one country affects many countries. We're honestly bordering a point in time where countries are so interconnected, we're really quite global. If one country has issues, others feel it. That means... everyone affected becomes informed as to the why!

I think the US senate, congress, courts and agencies are fighting hard enough to curb the idiocy as much as they can right now. I would be shocked if the Republican Party put him back up for reelection.

Do they have to as sitting president? Or can they run a new member even though this is a first term?

The way I see it, internationally we are screwed. We don't have much in the way of gross domestic product, and I really worry about Trump hurting this country so badly in due to our dependence on other countries that our economy will fail.

I have been fascinated by Angela Merkel and how she is responding. It appears to me that out of all the other world leaders, she seems to be taking the most advantage of Trump's erm..flaws. I would love to hear from someone from Germany on that or any outside perspective really.

@anthony Um you don't live here so you couldn't possibly understand the depth of hated and rage there is for Trump. It's still here and growing, just not as public. We still have marches and rallies. I don't think it's as much about complacency, but the sheer fact that if people picked something to March about, we'd be marching EVERYDAY!!!!!

Seriously, we could march and have demonstrations about healthcare. Women's rights, which he is working to destroy. Immigration. He proposed tax plan which again, its all for the rich guy and f*ck the little people.

I could go on and on but you get the picture.... and yes, I'm rageful!!!!

@anthony Um you don't live here so you couldn't possibly understand the depth of hated and rage there is for Trump.
Um, yer, I do get it. I don't need to live there. I only need to turn on any US chat show / news channel that contains politics and it tells of most things Trump, from the people themselves, from news people, from everyday US citizens.

Most people outside the US get it... because what you don't see, is what we see outside of the US... and its all over every media channel daily, and is consistent across any US news channel broadcast globally. Read a news site, Trump or something related. Its everywhere. The world gets it.

The world is in mourning with the US about Trump. I can flip this back to you with, take a trip outside the US, you will understand that we get it.

I've lived in countries where people don't talk about being mad. Don't talk about demonstrating. They're blowing shit up, setting shit on fire, killing, raping, kidnapping, robbing, rioting, arming, training, launching coordinated attacks against their own government.

Until we reach that point? I don't see America as ragefull. I see a subsection of America as having a minor snit, thinking it's rage.

@Friday Oh, I think we are a nation of rageful people, were just more civilized than other nations and we don't go around blowing up people, places and things. We demonstrate peacefully in most cases...

Let me try a more personal note. I have a friend who lives several blocks away. Two days ago she found a swastika carved into the sidewalk in front of her house. Yes, she is Jewish. Yes, she also has two children under the age of 8. I cannot begin to describe the effect this had on her. I cannot begin to describe the effect the ongoing hate mongering is having on so many of our lives.

But that is a criminal act done by a criminal. What does this have to do with the country at whole? Or Trump/politics? There are criminals and hatred in every country. And were aren't even near the worst of it.

No matter how many laws we have, we will always have criminals and hatred sadly, breaking any laws put in.

We've been to the same places.:D

Seriously? You're going to stick with that? America -- not blowing up people? As above, been to those countries, and the worst ones were America blowing other people up willy nilly. You're pulling the piss now, aren't you?

@anthony That's my answer and I'm sticking to it. I'm not pulling piss either. If you're discussing wars, then yes, we do blow up things, people and places, as does EVERY other country that has been involved with a war. I was referencing terrorism/demonstrations within my country, we have very few home grown terrorist attacks within our country, compared to some other countries.

There will be a fraction of people who will give Obama credit, however we have added more jobs in the last 110 days, the stock market is at its highest in history, GDP is up, business is moving back in to this country, and inflation, which is a necessary evil to standard of living, is rising which means people and business will make more money. Trust me, I think the guy has stirred a big shit pot and his rhetoric is elementary, however we should see him as the anti-establishment vote that he is. His election had less to do with Republican/Democrat agenda and more to do with the sour taste Washington as a whole has left in our mouth for far too long.
The very things that people are disgusted with Trump on are the very same things the Clintons stood for. They have far deeper ties to Russia than Trump. Secretary Clinton hashed a deal to sell uranium which I am sure is finding a final resting place in Iran. As for the womanizing, this phrase still rings in my head, " I DID NOT HAVE SEXUAL RELATIONS WITH THAT GIRL." He couldn't even call her by her name and then disgustingly tried to dismiss it all by defining sexual relations as penetration all the while Hillary was threatening his long time affairs... both candidates have sketchy personal lives. The determining factor for me was Hillary has been a lifetime politician and has done nothing IN MY OPINION except bolster her war chest. I want to see term limits set, lobbyist banned, and the ability to put a provision, also known as a rider, on to a bill banned. I read all 2000+ pages of Obamacare, it was chalked full of favors and riders. It was disgusting and had everyone read it for themselves no way would you feel as good about it as you do now!
I realize I am one of the few Republican voices here. I am not ashamed of my political stance. I am socially moderate, but I vote for fiscal agenda. I can go on and on about some of the comments about federal spending cuts that are being handed down to states, but I am afraid it will fall on deaf ears. I am a believer in fact only and the thing that has sparked me in other forums here is when facts aren't being represented. I hope my post can be seen as another view and not as a call to arm.
Anthony, the right to bare arms is a complex issue. I have some direct knowledge of how the laws work here. You do have a right to have a gun in your home. Some guns require registration and some guns are considered illegal bc they are automatic or semi automatic, however it doesn't change the fact you can have a weapon, unless of course you have a felony conviction. Once again, it is complex but you aren't denied the right to own a gun and some guns like shotguns don't require registration, only handguns and some automatic weapons. Anyway, complex times. Nothing is straight forward anymore.
