Equality is a damn fine line to go down, and I am all for it.
But being a Nature based person. Do I realy want a women behind me on patrol, who is having her once a month Severe pain, discomfort and agression time.
Bearing in mind that when in theatre a lot of the time our stress cup`s are full due to days of action. Should the risk be taken and that thrown on top of an all ready full cup.
We have all (Guys and Galls) been there when the rounds start to fly, the aggression kicks in, the adrenaline is pumping. We all know what happens and know that stopping can be "Hard" at the best of times. having some one suffering with the possibilty of :
Irritability,, tension, dysphoria, stress, anxiety, insomnia, headaches, fatigue, mood swings, increased emotional sensitivity, and changes in libido, bloating, abdominal cramps, constipation, swelling or tenderness to the breasts, joint and muscle pain
Which are only a few things associated with the menstrual cycle, is a Liability to the people on the ground. Be it own forces, or civilian populace.
There are jobs that cater for and are probably better suited to women. I knew female Mechanics and Medics who hold there own with blokes.
So should women be in Combat roles? No
My opinion, my tuppence.
