If you have a spare 30 minutes or so this is a very, very interesting video on the inroads taken into the different chemical compositions and their effects.

I am an anti-marijuana campaigner only because the use of MJ bought from the local dealer or off a prescription can have an adverse affect on the PTSD sufferer. Mind you, the next time you buy a batch it might be ok.
You see, MJ has so many different chemical compositions when burnt and a different set when vaporised. Some of these chemicals can bring on severe anxiety attacks, depression, and appetite. All three of those things a veteran with PTSD does not want.

The video delves into the different chemical compositions, how they are created, and what benefits the world can have if scientist are allowed to utilise it.

The biggest problem I see is with the pharmaceutical companies. MJ grown and harvested correctly is better than any aspirin, cortisone, and many other medications. There is no way these companies are going to lay down and lose production.

Have a read.

I will be toes up before it is legalised in Australia.

Gonna watch the video of course, and ill probably have more to say after that. However, i can tell you from personal experience. cannabis does bring people comfort. Because of it's predictable side effects it's my medication of choice for dealing with my...self.

A lot of the guys on here know that I was a full on addict and dealer in the end. I grew hydroponic plants in a grow tent in my garage.
I cut holes in my walls and all for airconditioning and it was a rental house. I was raising my son by myself at the time and did not care what anyone else said, in my eyes, marijuana was the bomb.

What had happened though is that I had taken myself off all the other medication. I thought I was doing fine, but when I eventually saw the light, I asked my friends that I still had left and they thought of me as a stoner who had no care for my children.

I agree one hundred percent with what the video is saying, but what you have to take into account is that when you smoke the stuff you get from the dealer or on prescription, you still have no idea of the amounts of all the chemical components you are receiving. You may feel it is working, but it could also have adverse effects if you get a different batch, not to mention the carcinogenic compounds you are inhaling.

Now with all that being said, what would I know. Everyone is in charge of their own lives and accept the consequences all the same.

Yeah i don't have a kid or anything except the cleanliness of my room to neglect, and i grow my own also (legally i should add) via a nice little DWC setup in my closet. I have solid sativa heavy genetics that are great for stress/anxiety/depression and frankly i enjoy watching my ladies grow and mature. It's a nice hobby (aside from video games my ONLY hobby these days...). It isn't for everyone, but for a person like me it fits for now. At any rate i'd like to see cannabis taken more seriously as a form of medication. I feel it is legitimate medicine, and will only be proven more so given more time and study.

Mate, if they got rid of some of the cannabinoids and you did not get whacked out of your head but was still relaxed and pain free would you use it??

If I had no wife and no life I would probably go back there.

Yup, I've always been a smoker(i use a vaporizer exlusively now to mitigate that also) so don't get me wrong i enjoy getting baked. The main draw for me in regards to cannabis is the predictable side effects. I've lost a couple family members to exuberant doctors giving them multiple medications and it destroying their liver over time, and when i say couple i do actually mean two.

I guess im what you cold call a functional smoker? Due in part to my tolerance it doesnt really impede my daily activitys as things are now. However to finally answer your question, yes. I would actually love something in pill form that would give me the same benefits without any of the clouded thinking or overeating/sleepiness etc that come with the cannaboids.

You know I got things done, I did not over eat and was quite functional. I could drive and do most things. Then a good police buddy of mine got me to do the defensive driving course and I hit just about everything, lol. I used to have a cone when I first woke up and the last thing before bed. I also changed to vaporiser.
The problem here in Australia is that it is still a criminal offence. You can get a script from your GP for terminal patients and patients with screwed up livers which is a concern of mine.
I am hoping the move to the country, the quiet lifestyle will enable me to chill and eventually reduce my medication.

Giving up pot was easier than giving up cigarettes though.

5 days and counting.

I too was a big fan, still my Achilles heel. I felt I was in more depression when I didn't smoke it, ie; The odd day. It does relax, however as Jimmy states, it's not regulated well enough to ensure no further additional negative MH effects are caused, or heightened.

I've been off it for a couple of months, still would like to smell it, however I became more wrapped up in my shit and neglected my family. I fully understand how people May find temporary peace with the weed.
