And there we have it, it's now officially a defunct treatment fully quantified via a double blind, randomise...
Yesterday I asked my pain doctor, Dr. Ratko Vujicic in Ballentine, SC, if he gave Stellate ganglion block shots for PTSD and he said no but was very excited. He said he only heard about it a year ago and they are doing trials in Ft. Bragg and Baltimore. He said the success rate in Ft. Brag is off the charts and he emphasized that they only work when given in the left side of the neck.

News & Observer in Raleigh, NC, dated April 20 2015, said: A Triangle research institute has received a $2 million grant from the U.S. Department of Defense to test a medical procedure to treat post-traumatic stress disorder. RTI International will lead the first randomized, controlled trials... which means past trials did not use this precision. It will be done in 5 military bases across the county.

Another reference is Ret Col Dr. Elspeth Cameron Ritchie MD, MHP, who has a copious background related to SGB and is consistently positive.

Overall I found more positive articles than negative and many within the same journals, which shows how unreliable either opinion is at this point. I can't see giving up on its viability when the jury isn't back.

There are lots of positive posts about a lot of things, all of which are opinion only. The only factual study to date shows very low success for ptsd. Pain, yes. PTSD -- no.

Question: How is your wife doing now years later, after she got the shot? Just saw the tv show The Doctors talk about it. Wondering if it works long term. Thank you

Hey, for me, just getting into the fetal position or squatting down has kept me from passing out or getting lost in flashbacks. It brings me back. I am sure this is not "the answer" nor that it can be pinpointed to one place on the body, but the nervous system is complex and we probably know very little about it, not to mention our immune system.

Some research suggests that 80% of those Dx'd with ADHD can be cured by eliminating salycitic acids (naturally occuring asprin) from the diet and indicates that most of what we call ADHD is actually a food sensitivity. The wealthy families on the East Coast where Dx is concentrated eat the most of these foods (fresh fruits/veg).

So much will be known when the scientific community is given more money and the big corps can't dominate thought (if that ever could happen. I doubt it.)

I'm curious - did anyone here receive the pulsed-radio frequency version of the SBG shot? Supposedly it anaesthetises the region for 3 months as opposed to 8 hours for the standard injection.

Blogger Ken Scholes has reported being PTSD-symptom free from over 2, maybe 3 years now after getting this version of the shot after receiving the standard version several times.

Good to see a new post on here after a few years of nothing. I had the shot last week and have felt no difference as of yet. I will be getting another this week. My Dr says it could take up to 5
