I go by drgnner. I was a door gunner and crew chief in Vietnam in 1970 through 1971 in 3 corps, war zone c. I was in a helicopter assault company my entire tour.
Im sure my story is comparable to many.
I came home numb, got a job right away and did not stop working until 1998 when the effects of having ptsd caused me to seek some serious help because my life as I knew it, had come crashing down around my feet. I had lost my identity.
It has been a long haul and I am still kicking around ok, but I am isolated and feel it is time to venture out with my keyboard and possibly meet others who understand ptsd and how it became a problem.
