I hope this isn´t a thing yet.

There are a lot of songs out there that make me laugh, even when I´m in the shitter. Depending on my mood, they can really cheer me up and help me view things from a more positive perspective.

What songs never fail to bring a smile to your face?

Here´s my pick:

- Weird Al Yankovic "Foil"
- Weird Al Yankovic "Bad Hombres, Nasty Women"
- Wannabe (metal cover by Leo Moracchioli)
- Son of Dave - POW POW (official video)

I have the Austin Lounge Lizards on my spotify lately, painfully cleverly humorous if you like that kind of thing. Being a musician myself I have to admit I appreciate a good Yankovich parody, the polka versions he orchestrates are always a smile. Frank Zappa was a master of "putting the wrong eyebrows" on a piece, his jazz club versions and minor key renditions that catch you by surprise always make me smile a bit, but his juvenile and often disgusting attempts at humor leave me listening to the musicianship instead.

It's rather vulgar with the language, but there's a David Allen Coe song I love to listen to when I get really pissed sometimes called "You Pissed Me Off" (Rodeo Song), as it manages to tickle my funny bone rather than adding fuel to the fire.

"Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah" is another one that often turns my frown upside down....especially the "Mr. Bluebird's on my shoulder" part.

The band named Wookiefoot does a song called "Junk Food" that helps brighten my mood and laugh at their lyrics when I'm having a food-related frustrating day.

Many of the old school songs make me laugh just because of the dance moves I remember doing to them....lol. I really love going back and watching Soul Train re-runs...especially when they did the dance lines.

Be my Yoko Ono - Barenaked Ladies

Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo - Verna Felton

Under the Sea - Samuel E. Wright

A Windmill in Old Amsterdam - Ronnie Hilton (a mouse, with clogs on!)

The Gummi Bears theme tune

Summer Holiday - Cliff Richard

I Want A Hippopotamus for Christmas by Gayla Peevey
The Unicorn by The Irish Rovers
The Unicorn was performed by the Irish Rovers but was written by none other than Shel Silverstein. Now theres a guy that can write a funny tune, as well as childrens books and I don't know what all. He wrote Johnny Cashes "boy named Sue" and just about everything done by Dr. Hook. My personal favorite isn't really funny but makes me smile a bit. Try "this guitar is for sale" recorded by John Prine, another musician with a tongue up his sleeve.

Another Weird Al one - Everything You Know Is Wrong
ASAP Science - The Periodic Table Song
Capt. Bogg & Salty - The Tortuga Caper // Ben Folds - Sea Serpent
VeggieTales - Intro Theme Song
Dana Lyons - Cows With Guns
Jimmy Fallon (w Justin Timberlake) - History of Rap
Patient Zero - Dwarf Hole (Diggy Diggy Hole)
Yogscast & Sparkles - Screw The Nether
Dan Bull - (Various gaming songs)
Harry McClintock - Big Rock Candy Mountains

*** The Bricklayers Song *** John McDermott - The Bricklayers Song (Live from the "Scotland" album)
